    Cobh Ramblers (A)

If our own recent run of results has been extremely creditable, Cobh's puts even that into the ha'penny place, with eight wins, a draw and a defeat in their last ten league games, and that loss, like ours, coming against Dundalk. As such, the trip to St Colman's Park will be a formidable challenge, even allowing for the scoreless draw we picked up there at the beginning of the season, with both Barry Coffey and Cian Murphy picking up seamlessly from where they left off with Cork last season. Still, since the season began, we've picked off wins against most of the sides in the division, and victory over Bray means that Cobh are now the only side we've faced for multiple seasons who we've yet to defeat in the league, though of course we have overcome them in both the Munster and FAI Cups. As such, we should approach Monday with confidence, and take the game on its own merits, it probably being safer to leave a thriving team alone, rather than rotating simply for the sake of it, and let the chips fall where they may for the final result.

Rotate team, rest a good few for Wexford next Friday and go for win there (much more important game in overall context of playoffs etc.) problem is with Kelliher, Carl and Adam’s out we are down to the bare bones squad wise after releasing a good few players also - didn’t even fill out the full squad for the last 2 games.

Terrible howler by Hiemer who has otherwise been heroic. A point would have been a good result. Not to be. Not a fan of a game on a normal Monday. Usually been Bank Holiday Mondays for these games.

Ya bad mistake from Tim, harsh life of a goalkeeper really given how good he has been. Sad to lose the game like this, thought we played well in the first half. Didn’t have the same cohesiveness in the second but still felt we looked comfortable containing them. They forced a couple of good saves from
Tim, but never really pinned us back for long periods either. We do lack a bit of quality in the final third, especially in tight games like this.

Looked like a great traveling support tonight - even more so when you consider a Monday night.

Dundalk and Cobh should be a good battle for the division, but both teams will be lucky to get to double digits points in premier division next season… just look at city - the gap has never been bigger!!
