It's a real pleasure to watch Colm Whelan at the moment. His linkup play is amazing and clearly a step above this level. Without the injuries you'd have to think he would be elsewhere by now but we'll take him for as long as we can.

Delighted for the lad. I remember hoping we’d sign him when he was still with UCD. He’s had a tough time with injuries so very happy to see him get a run of games and also find some of his old form.

Would agree with that, strange game in some ways, we could have won handsomely and could just as easily drawn it. Harps played quite well especially in the last 30.

A massive 3 points for us against Drogheda considering we flopped badly in our last 2 home games, and have 2 incredibly tough games next weekend (away to Pats and home to Bohs) which we’ll do very well to take anything from. 3 points closer to safety tonight.
At times tonight we showed we can play football, and when we do, we’re not a bad side.
Moses Dyer has been some signing for us, and delighted/relieved he finally scored at home as all his 5 previous goals have been in away games.
The league table is mad viewing at the minute - great to see!

Great win for Waterford after 7 losses in a row. The Block E ultra fans released a statement during week calling for more effort from players if they wanted to keep their support and had a Step up or step out banner before the game. The players seem to listen as they worked hard all night and deserved the win. Both goals were a bit scrappy as was Derry's late goal.
Derry were poor. 2nd time this season we have beaten them which isn't a great sign for a club who would expect to challenge for league.

The first goal was horrific to concede. Ball bouncing around the box, Maher in the middle of nowhere. I'd have no issue if he was dropped on the back of that performance.
At least we managed to score at the death, save a bit of face, and not let Waterford have their first clean sheet of the season.

Serious work needed between now and next week. It's bizarre that we're only three points off the top, mad league.

He may not have 90 minutes in him but he has enough to pull every bit of energy out of every other player and they respond to him. What a week.BOOM
I think Buckley coming back into form has been a key factor in the turnaround from earlier in the season.

Same. From the outside looking in, he acts like a spoiled child and loves to blame everyone else and everything else rather than taking any responsibility.

A look on Facebook shows that they're turning against him. Easy to see he wasn't manager last year.

I thought they'd come good this year, I had them tipped to finish ahead of Longford and Harps.

With just 3 substitute breaks to use in a game to bring on 5 subs, that is incredibly thoughtless stuff to use all 3 within 4 minutes of each other, particularly so early into the game. Genuinely mind boggling stuff!

Their Twitter says it was a triple sub - I think the times on the app just reflect when the Kerry official added the sub. They made two more subs in the second half

Scoreline flattered Athlone last night, Treaty should have scored 3.

Treaty need to go on a run if they've any intention of reaching the playoffs.

Athlone were blunt up front. Everything Ben Feeney got was in the air and they were missing Dean Williams, Declan McDaid and Kyle Robinson.

The 3 subs after 15mins were all done together - one was injury enforced. The other 2 straight swaps (RB for RB and midfielder for midfielder), not even tactical or a formation change, just hauled 2 lads off, neither of whom were directly involved in the concession of first 2 goals or you would pick out as been the worst 2 on the field at that stage.

I would imagine change is coming fast -
The players body language says it all.

Fair play to Bray, some really good players with potential there. Billy O’Neill on the right wing looks very good. I would worry about them defensively though, last night could easily have finished 6-4.

It has been a long road for Kerry to get to LoI football. There probably has been a lot more patience than what would been tolerated elsewhere.
My own opinion is that Kerry need an experienced manager. How that is resolved and the make up of the management team can be altered with the budget available - not sure what to expect there to be honest. I don't think Keith Long will be taking on Kerry as his next project!

Didn't know Pat's were wearing blue that long.
