    World Cup - Visa discussion

Ticket prices would be the least of my concerns. You would have to be nuts to go anywhere near this World Cup unless it's games in Canada or Mexico. Travelling football fans are inevitably going to end up in ICE detention camps and god knows where after that.

If you think that Irish fans attending the World Cup in America are going to end up in ICE detention camps then ~ The propaganda that has convinced you of that, has worked !

If it did happen which is a mighty big if, the numbers would be tiny probably countable on one hand ~ ~ Maybe some that deserve to de detained by ICE might be detained by ICE ~ ~ After-all that is the law in America ~ American laws for America !

    Look at all these reasons

Members of punk band UK Subs were detained at customs in LA and eventually denied entry to the US. There's a lot of athletes who take political stances, who's to say they won't be detained for the same reason next year, or before the Olympics in 2028?

Err. That's another way of saying what I said. Go see a World Cup match in a more welcoming country (i.e. Mexico or Canada).

Good idea if you don't want to abide by America's laws alright.

What law do you think the band in tets' example broke?

I thought free speech was a central part of American identity - or am I wrong?

Foreigners / Tourists, in Countries should obey the laws of the land they enter ~ That's not rocket science.

If they don't, or choose not to, they should be willing to accept the consequences of their actions.

That doesn't explain which law they broke.

    Correct.

Fairly simple question to answer, I'd have thought.

Gibbs was told he had an incorrect visa.

I am sure that there are groups in America that will fight their corner, if they were not treated legally under American laws !

Three in the band were detained for 25 hours, with only a pot noodle and tea for sustenance, what law did the other two break? Do you think it's acceptable to treat anyone in their late 60s in this manner?

Not just detained for 25 hours, but deported. For breaking what law?

Did America break its own laws to deport these people ~ I doubt that ~ And I would say that these people, would have a strong legal case if that was what happened !

Answer the question - what law did the members of the band break to be deported?

America deported these people under America's laws ~ ~ That's how the laws of a country work.
