    Longford Town (A)

If you said before the season started that we'd only concede two goals in our opening four games, few would have any complaints, but by far the more pressing concern is the lack of goals since the opening day, which highlights the failure to bring in any cover for Kelliher over the window, as promising as Luke Palmer looks for the future, based on last week. It looks like we'll be back to full strength at the back, with Sam Aladesanusi returning from his long-term injury, and while neither Gleeson nor Teahan are guaranteed to be back, it seems both are in contention to feature on Saturday. The Midlanders, including Andy Spain, will be keen to respond to their 5-0 mauling at Cobh last week, but can we record only our second ever away league win, and potentially a first on a grass pitch?

The failure to put away chances has been frustrating for the last few games. The more things change the more they stay the same. The same story of conceding sloppy goals and letting the opponents away with an easy 3 points. This has held the club back from gaining any positive momentum over the last two years.
The basic plan for tomorrow: no concession of sloppy goals and put away the decent chances!! Seanie and Dan have got to be scoring more. If Dan starts converting chances we'll have some player to terrorise opponents.

This game will really tell us how good this team is. Win with a professional performance, clinical in front of goal and solid at the back against a team most likely battling for the 9th spot is what we hope for and expect. No messing about - get the job done!!
A draw away from home is never a bad result, but one thinks given the circumstances here, Kerry need to win this one and get over the mental block of not having won on grass before.
We have a bigger budget than Longford so no excuses.

Really needless game to lose. 3 years in and still can’t defend set pieces. Having bossed most of the first half and got ourselves ahead, Longford came out fired up and more physical in second half and we didn’t match it. No excuses, the sending off and penalty miss at the end summed it up really.

Can’t see this team challenging for playoffs based opening 5 fixtures - just don’t seem to be able to eke out results. I hope I’m wrong of course.

On a positive note, Luke Palmer looks a serious talent. Good touch, finishing and pace… and still only 17, going to play a huge part this season. In only 2 starts, he has scored, won a penalty and unlucky not to score and win another penalty against Bray!!!

Deserved to lose. Back 4 were all over the place from the off. Teahan in patches and Palmer were the only 2 I could give a pass to. The peno summed up the performance. About 50 Kerry fans travelled and in fairness gave the team a good ovation at the end. The performance was undeserving though .

Even enough opening , we probably shaded it, but Kerry completely on top after our opener and desereved to be ahead at the break - we needed half time betetter in second half. I cant say we deserved the win but delighted to get a win, in Dundalk next week and be out of our depth there.
Fair dues to the Kerry fans who travelled up.

Fully agree - we are starting to look disorganised and ill disciplined at times. No doubt this team has more talent than previous years, but we have some players struggling to find early season form and more concerning I don’t think the conditioning of the team is where it should be - definitely there are 2-3 players that don’t look fully fit. Coaches need to get this sorted quickly.
