Odd post indeed! Drogheda have picked up where they left off in last seasons run in + cup win so its a considerable period of good results. I like how the game stats mean absolutely nothing in their games bar th points pcked up - can such low possession etc sustain positive results or will they be figured out. Big pitch, better surfaces when weather improves and they may be pulled out of their defensive shape, in United Park few should expect results.

Waterford brought back down to earth with a bang tonight. The game was over at half time and atmosphere quiet among the home fans for 2now half with Bohs fans doing all the singing.Colm Whelan back to haunt us again.

I believe it's getting relaid now we're heading into a run of I think five away games in six. Not sure what happened it - the rugby obviously doesn't help, but it's never been this bad before

Some start to the season by Drogheda in fairness. I wasn't expecting that. I was discounting their chances of making an impact in Europe but maybe they might!

Yes, Drogheda are the surprise team so far. I know it's early but the league is on its head at the moment.

It’s a great league, anything can happen.

If offered 8th place now, I’d bite your hand off for it.

We’re playing well, deserved every point we got - and should’ve beaten Galway - still think there’s more to come from us

Unfortunately for Longford, Ramblers did click last night; to be fair Rambler's goalkeeper made a great save at 2-0, Jonas Hakkinen made a great block too and you missed a sitter after h/t.
That said, Ramblers passed up a few good chances too.

Yeah, never seen it as bad. Couple of years it was cut a bit from rugby but that was barely playable last night. Good news they're getting work done on it.

Stu might need to stat a 2025 keeper clanger thread! Feel a bit sorry for Cherrie, he has one, maybe 2 of those in him a season but when it happens he tends to be better after. It cant be good when you are the goalkeeping coach and you throw the ball in to the net. He was obviously not match sharp either and at 41 is definitely slower getting to where he needs to be. Id have back youth if needing to put in a reserve keeper but Kilduff was probably thinking there are already a bunch of teens in defence and they needed an older head to martial them, I think they have shown incredible maturity and would have coped - a real testament to their youth coaching and how the side is being coached daily. I also think we needed something to ground fans where a few were starting to think again we would walk the 1st Division. Timely as it might hav the team get the bit between the teeth as Cobh start to look dangerous with results another significant signing. That said we have a run of 4 games that on paper close to maximum points could be gained before meeting who I think will be main rivals for promotion - not to have any expectaions or anything....

The irony of calling anyone else a cuck when your own club is part of a multi-club stable.

Only got a chance to see the highlights on my tv in the last hour. Neil Doyle should be rested after that penalty decision. DCFC fans to a man said it was shocking.

Oh yeah and Treaty get a late comeback of their own...
Yep I thought it was a pen too. Soft, but stupidly risky by Pico.

Sweet Jesus! Just saw Treaty's first goal there now. Pretty bizarre decision to let Sean Molloy go in favour of a 41 year old that hasn’t played regular football in 4 years

Cherrie already on the books as a goalkeeper coach and when cost cutting....but yeah its not ideal and there is the u20 keeper though I read somewhere that the back 4 that finished had an average age of 17 so throw in a similar aged keeper and its clear why Kilduff opted for experience. We have quite a few 'experienced' players out injured or suspended so tbh picking up points even with a late collapse shows some resilience, youthful fearlessness maybe and something we havent show in a couple of seasons with expensive squads.
