I'm asking regards non league clubs knocked out of the FAI Cup. Going to be of a more uphill task for any in their off season.
They could do themselves a favour and change!

Increase the prizemoney substantially and they might be encouraged to change

The governing association asks it as part of reform of the way the game is administered and its needed, that should be sufficient. They need the stick not the carrot. Agree to change then talk on prizemoney levels could start across all 3 divisions. I agree with whatever earns Dundalk most money!!

Do any stattos know if this season's FAI Cup is the first that every Premier Division club has successfully advanced to the last 16?

This has definitely not happened in the past 20 seasons I don't have the time to go back though records to 1985-86
The Leinster Senior League needs a strong Bohemians

Shamrock Rovers away. FFS. Only slightly better than drawing them at home.
Upwards to the vanguard where the pressure is too high.

Between Europe and FAI Cup that is three nasty draws this week for Shels it's like a hangover for landing the best possible Champions League Q1 draw lucking into Linfield

I know the plan is for Mayo FC to join the third tier next year, but judging by today Castlebar Celtic would themselves be a decent addition to the league. There was a good crowd there (hard to guess, but high hundreds if not 1,000 or so), and a lot of people were in club merchandise - which suggests a depth of support beyond just turning up for one big game. The ground itself isnt bad, but would need a bit of work to get to LOI level (i.e. some seating, a roof). The pitch could also do with a bit more levelling out. Hopefully the Castlebar footbal public get behind the new Mayo FC team. If they don't then Castlebar Celtic themselves would be an obvious alternative for that area.

There was a decent Longford crowd alright, but I'd be very surprised if it was as high as 200. You were all in one corner of the ground for the first half, so it was very easy to get a sense for how many there were. I'd say either side of 100 really. I've tried to upload a photo of you all on here, but it's not happening for some reason.

Four premier teams going out and I'd expect the other two to go through.

There used to be the odd 'giant killing' non-league win over a league club going back 10 or more years ago, but now it's very much a rarity. What's more the norm now is non-league sides getting battered by LOI clubs - particularly the PD teams.

It shows for me an increasing gap between the senior game and the levels below, which hopefully a 3rd tier/start of a pyramid can help to close a bit again.

Whilst the last round struggled to throw up any ties to get excited aboutl this round has doled out some crackers.

Cork-Waterford Munster derby. Pats-Shels Dublin derby. Derry-Drogs grudge match. Salthill-Galway derby too - surely that will get moved to Eamon Deacy Park, as Drom is a useless place for any more than about 100 people to watch a game in?

The Pat's -Shels game stands out for a number of reasons, chief among them being the cup winners get better financial European benefits than finishing 2nd or 3rd in the league. I can't see either team winning the league.
Great draw for Rovers against dundalk-lite.
    Hope we hammer them

A few interesting cup ties -ie FAI cup finals 1999 Harps v Bray last year Drogheda v Derry 1983 Bohs v Sligo Rovers. Think Pats Shels game will go to penos considerin Pats are discoverin their mojo finally!
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

I wouldn't be declaring that Pats have turned the corner just yet. They'd 2 wins against a very weak Latvian side, and a riot against a poor non-league side. They need to start beating teams in the top half of the league for a change before their mojo is finally back in-play again.
