    New Radio Deal

New Radio deal! Off The Ball have signed up to broadcast 30 premier division games on radio https://x.com/offtheball/status/1888...163733424?s=46
As posted by "2 Year Contract"

Following on from the above news which is another great promotion for the league!

How many clubs have a local radio station that covers their home games?

I think that BBC Radio Foyle covers the home Derry City games, I think they have a deal for home games.
Dundalk FM covers the Dundalk FC home games, not sure what is happening now they are in the First Division!
Ocean FM have covered Sligo Rovers, mostly team news, half-time and final score updates.
WLR FM with Waterford, mostly team news, half-time and final score updates.
Red FM are a sponsor of Cork City, just end of game reports mostly.

Any fans that know more and can offer better knowledge, if their clubs have secured any deal with a local radio station to cover games live!

Be great to see what the situation is there with broadcasting rights or does it clash with the LOI TV coverage now!

WLR cover all Waterford away league games in full live for last couple of seasons and do updates on the home games. I don't know it this will change now with the new radio and tv deal.

If we could get a list of all the local radio stations that cover LOI clubs, it would make some interesting information & choice for away fans and interested soccer LOI fans!

LMFM also have commentary for all Dundalk and Drogheda games on their website.

Dundalk FM will continue to have commentary even though we are in first division

I dont listen to local radio stations as such but Shannonside FM would cover Co Longford so I imagine they publicise anything related to Longford town Fc. I could be wrong mind you!
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

There's a local radio station in Derry cover their games. Highland Radio has live updates from the ground at certain intervals during Harps home games

Galway Bay fm covers Galway Utd. They would rarely do 90 minutes of full commentary though

LMFM also cover all Dundalk home games along with DLK FM, and LMFM also do all Drogs home games. LMFM is also the commentary for LOI TV for DLK games, and prob same for other regional stations others clubs, which would make sense.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), only Irish club to win a game / points in Europa League Group Stage (2016).

They do the away games too.
Off the Ball say it's an "exclusive" national deal. Does that mean smaller stations can't cover games OTB are covering now?

What about the Dublin City based clubs?

I think Shamrocks, Bohs and St. Pats have their own in house commentary I believe. Any fans of these clubs able to offer some information here please!

I know most clubs now provide their own coverage with all the social media options, usually delayed game highlights, but what about live radio commentary!

Local Radio coverage for LOI Clubs 2025

Here is an update so far, not sure if these radio stations have commentary on home & away games.

WLR cover all Waterford away league games in full live.
LMFM have commentary on Dundalk games.
LMFM also have commentary on Drogheda games.
Drive 105 & BBC Radio Foyle have commentary on Derry games.
Galway Bay FM cover Galway United games.

So far, let's hear from any others clubs fans that have local radio coverage!

Maybe you could provide details on the type of coverage they provide. Do they cover home games only or just game updates during their schedule!

I remember listening to the LOI coverage of RTE medium wave years ago. It’s great to have a national broadcaster coverage games on the radio again.

I thought they did full commentary for away games. Not sure what they do for home matches - likely just live reports rather than full commentary.
I phoned the speaking clock to hear a voice speak, it said - "At the tone you will be very much alone"

Radio Kerry is similar to Highland in that they'll have updates every 15 mins, along with full broadcasts on rare occasions such as Bank Holiday Monday fixtures, the Bohs match, and the Munster Senior Cup final.

Dundalk, Rovers and I think possibly Bohs offer audio descriptive commentary for those attending matches with visual impairment.
