been following the womens team a fair bit the past few years due to my own girls interest increasing hugely the past 4/5 years.
The results the past week are significant. Having seen womens football in Belgium at first hand, I really didn't think we were capable of beating them over two legs. But what impressed me most was the football the girls played in Belgium in the first half. I really was surprised reading the reports of the game. The first Belgian goal was very much against the run of play and Ireland were far the better team, and moved the ball exceptionally well - far better than I've seen any senior Irish team (not a typo) move the ball in that first 30 mins.
Hopefully this is something Ward can build on.
Here they come! It’s the charge of the “Thanks” Brigade!
