Certainly is, meanwhile the Glens put in a crap peformance against Ards (2-1) Here is part of Coyle's comments, "...bad, bad... no excuse... there is no point in dressing it up...up until now we played in patches, today we did not play in patch...we got worse as the game went on..."

Ards probably could have got a draw, although, I think the Glens were JUST worthy if the win, as they had a few more chances, and really should have had another. A fairer reflection of things would have been 3-2 the Glens.

As for Linfield, they look a great team this year, and will be VERY tough to beat, even if the Glens did have a full squad. The East Belfast men need to get their act together, and pretty soon. Coyle saying it is "only the start of the season" is wearing a little thin, and I think he knows it. What are Linfield and Portadown, and even a few other sides going to do to us if we make live difficult against Ards.

Great result at Drumahoe for the All Ireland Champions - only for their keeper it would have been 15!

Sorry to see the Derry lads do so badly, but it doesn't keep me awake at night!

How can a team you manage to score 9 on still manage to put 2 past you?

One was a penalty and the other was scored by McCallion, who with great justification, should have "walked" earlier after an appalling tackle!

    Linfield won 7-2 today !

Call me naive but even at this early stage I think Linfield's name will be on the trophy come the end of the season!

If they shore up their defence they'll be a great (even better) team. They also scored enough (well not enough 2 go through but still plenty) -V- Halmstad, if they get together a better defence you'd fancy them to progress further in Europe and be favourties for the Setanta- I know I'm looking way to far ahead here but the potential is their. How much longer do any of the Lins fans on here reckon Glen Ferguson's got left in him? Irreplaceable player?

This is likely to be his last season. Peter Thompson was great last season but he is a revelation this season. A class act who is a cert to go "across the water".

Noticed him last year in the Setanta Cup & very similar style to former City player Kevin Doyle now in irish squad. How much will ye sell him for?

When I first started following football, Linfield used beat everyone, including Chimney Corner (love that name - are they still around ?) by 9 goals.

Chimney Corner are a lower division team and have neverbeen in the same division as Linfield. They are still around and indeed, played Linfield in a pre season friendly this year.
