That’s people buying family tickets for the north stand and not using them all. Its cheaper to but the four ticket package than buy 3 single tickets. That’s why they always have empty seats in the North stand.

Attendance 5,675 at Tallaght for Shels Europa Conference home game last night.

Thats approximately the current capacity of Tolka Park!

That's a disappointing turn out but it was a horrendous night, I was going to go myself only for that, 20 quid was great value as is the three match pass. I suppose you weren't going to get any locals attending with Rovers playing at the same time. Tallaght just seems to be a place people don't feel arsed venturing out to. I take a mate living in Dublin yesterday to see if he fancied going and his response couldn't be posted here haha

The true measure of Shels support will be over the next couple of seasons if they are not in the hunt for the league or even avoiding a relegation battle. Every club suffers from novelty drop, but a return to top flight, Duff appointment, cup final, Europe, winning the league, all in 4 years, well its not dull. They did hope to put in a title defence so league form is off this year, no cup run, but Europe keeps things ticking over. Next year if European football isnt secured and another good league season doesnt happen it will be intersting to see how things go. I think that 6k is maxing out Shels support, lapsed fans and all. Neutrals wouldnt have bothered on a poor night, so I think its a good indicator. Its a long way from the <1500 they'd previously have been champions in front of.

Turner's Cross seems to be sold out, for the U21 Ireland v Slovakia game on Friday night, so hopefully a good crowd and atmosphere!
It's not City, but is this a follow on from the Cork sporting fans after witnessing the Cup semi-final win!
When I checked about 2 weeks ago they said sold out, not sure what that's about as tickets are still available on Ticketmaster.

I wish I loved anything in life as much as this guy loves claiming football matches will sell out

Well proof of the pudding and all that. It may have said sold out somewhere but it is far from sold out! We do need stadia of sufficient standard to get these games around the country in hope of novelty getting the sold out signs up. Showgrounds would have been a good shout for tonight, ED Park maybe. Could try and have a cauldron type atmosphere in Inchicore rather than a couple of thousand in Tallaght. Its a disappointing looking attendance tonight regardless.

Before the attendance in Oriel is announced, whenever It is very busy behind the town goal it indicates a circa 2.5k home crowd. So shed will be full, stand is sold out about 2k. The 5 minute terrace is full, in front of the stand also. So could and shoud be almost another 1k. I reckon the official attendance will be 2200ish.

*My cynical average announcement was wrong with 3300 announced. With different opposition that would have 800 with them it shows that a bumber crowd in Oriel could or should be 4k. The average gate in oriel should be targeted at 3k. I did type something like this earlier but didnt seem to post though maybe I got distracted by goals going in.
