Villa FC are only a stone's throw away from the RSC in Waterford. The perfect location for Waterford II.

Villa have a nice decent ground in Connors Park where I played for them myself. Since I hung up my boots in the early 90s (to make the switch to the egg chasing), they have added a clubhouse, an extra artificial full sized pitch and two artificial training pitches. Although I suspect for the big games it could be Ozier Park which is next door to their ground.

Tipperary has some very strong Junior clubs, with good facilities as well, but anything that isn't a Gaa style county model here will struggle to get support across the county, and likely never be viable as a 1st Division (or above) club, so again maybe it's a good thing that the likes of St. Michael's, Peake Villa, Clonmel Town or Nenagh have made it into this league so far.

I was surprised to see no representatives from Tipp given the county's track record at junior level as mentioned by the clubs above. We have used numerous Tipperary clubs like Clonmel, Carrick United, St. Michael's etc. as feeder clubs and we have support in towns like Carrick on Suir and Clonmel. One noticable absentee from your list was Thurles Town who spent a few years in the LOI back in the day (1977-82). They are still playing at the Thurles Greyhound Stadium and are in the North Tipperary District League. I thought they would have had another stab at the LOI and get into bed with Peake Villa again.

It'll be interesting to see what the FAI's expansion plans are in line with the Football Pathways Plan. If more progressive district clubs join a tier 4, would the FAI run two or three tiers for progressive clubs before it's over to provincial and district leagues to link up.

Linked to rovers, coaching , advice, pathway for young players etc., they also play a friendly with rovers first team every season, just wondered if they or indeed any other clubs would have to sever ties.

Not quite related to that, but I was interested to see Home Farm included. Would inclusion in this league mean that Home Farm would now be eligible to enter a team into the LOI underage Leagues?

The official League website doesn't list them - either as one of their clubs, nor anywhere in their league tables ?
