Bray's goals looked good on TV3 last night. We also took ours well. Worth a look on Mondays Highlights show.

Defo a penalty. I saw it on Sports Tonight last night and he dragged him down. No doubt about it. I wasn't too sure at the time.

Have to say, fair play to the players for coming back in the second half, they were clearly knackered.

    Not really.

Two away games in four days? One Dublin derby home game and an away game in four days?

Point is there's plenty of times we get two four-figure attendances in four days. The last week is far from unusual.

According to the match report on Bray Wanderers.ie the penalty wasn't givenbecause of a UCD player's infringement in the build-up.

I saw that, but that doesn't make sense. Why wasn't a free out given? You can't balance out two fouls. What if he'd scored? Would the ref have called back for the free a few seconds earlier?

Well my prediction about Dublin teams winning nothing this season has come to pass.

Just watched the highlights on eL weekly there. Cannot really figure out why Quigley was so statuesque for the first goal.

The penalty was so blatant it wasn't even funny. The guy's arm was actually over Dupuy shoulder on his chest while the other one pulled him. The play leading up to the chance was uncontested and clean. One long ball by Tony Mac I think into one player who picked up the ball unchalleneged and then passed into Dupuy who was molested. I don't buy the excuse the ref allegedly gave according to the Bray website. Mahon looked and sounded on the verge of tears in the post match interview. He said if he said what he was thinking he would be fined €200 and that he would rather take his wife out to dinner instead. The Bray assistant manager and Osam both agreed it was a peno. I'll never see a more baffling or soul destroying decision. The cliché they all balance out does not apply in the cup. We lost a great chance to hold onto our place in the cup and that cannot be balanced out.

I could'nt make the match as i was away but going by what i read in the papers, Bray deserved the win, one paper said that UCD barely got out of the own half in the 1st half ? The peno sounds like it should have been given, but thats how football goes, we have been done countless times this season, were stilkl owed quite a few !

As far as I recall we got out of our own half a good few times and the goals aside it was even enough.

Yeah, that's how I remember it. Bray's second was out of the blue; Pat McWalter was tormenting his marker throughout the entire game.

Feck's sake. If you ever read a short match report in the broadsheets it makes out we were on the backfoot or lucky no matter how well we played. It's like reading mypost's weekly review. "Plucky UCD scraped a 3-0 victory".

Imo, it was a fairly even game but we just shaded it.

As i said i was'nt at the match and all the match reports were very similar, thats all i have to go on and in fairness, 4 reports were very much the same.

Even overall. Bray were much better in the first half. The UCD midfield could hardly string two passes together. In the last 30 mins or so when Gary Dicker started playing and Tony McD moved up UCD were all over Bray.

As for the peno, it was as clear cut as anything your ever likely to see but you can't let in three goals and then blame the referee for the loss.

The penalty was ridiculous. I wasn't sure at the time cos I didn't have the best view but after seeing it on the telly it was definitely a peno. No doubt.
