    Exclamation FAI Delegate

This is taken from the Waterford BTID message board.

Good post ... thought more should read it !!

Surprised, no one has commented on our club's new delegate to the FAI, Mr. Milo Corcoran. Jaysus Martin are you really that niave ?
The man has put nothing financially in to our club for years and we hand him a meal ticket and a seat back into the FAI. There's at least a dozen others worthy of the position especially those who have been fund-raising keeping the club from folding.
I was asked by an ex-director during the week, if it was true. He immediately phoned Martin and asked him what the F*Łk he was doing. This ex-director will not be returning to the board while its a PLC but has given almost €5,000 already this season and another ex-director has given €11,000 is of the same opinion (both of the men were forced to resign from the club years ago and were not premitted to buy many shares).
This man doesn't want the post but feels others should have been asked would they like the position. He reckons the club had an oppourtunity to make money by offering the position to any potential directors seeking to invest money. If there are none, then the position should be auctioned on e-bay at least the club would make something.
Mr. Corcoran wanted the delegate role because he going to throw his hat in the ring when the job as President of the National League becomes vacant at the end of the season (watch this space), the man is feathering his own nest. We had enough cuckoo's in our nest in the past couple of seasons, Martin think again tell him to pay up or F&$k off, this is costing the club money.
The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

Here is another post on this topic from BTID

One ex-director who seems to be slipping under our radar is ex-director and former FAI president Milo Corocran. Milo owes everything he has achieved to Waterford Utd. He was one of the original directors of Waterford Utd. (1982) so he's been through this mess before.

Milo became an FAI committee member and then FAI president-elect as Waterford's delegate to the FAI council. While FAI president-elect one of our regular director schisms occured and Milo was forced from the board, this meant that Milo couldn't become FAI president, his dreams and ambitions were in tatters. A deal was done (major begging and grovelling occured) with new chairman John O' Driscoll, John Delaney and Paul Cooke (The Star) to allow Milo stay on as a director (on paper) and FAI delegate until his tenure as FAI President commenced, he would then have to resign anyway.

Milo term as FAI president is now over but low and behold I heard over the weekend he has not returned to work with C&C or is it Murphy's breweries (not too sure) but is now working for UEFA as an offical observer. As an UEFA observer he will no doubt be travelling Europe for Champions League,UEFA Cup, World Cup quailifiers,International friendlies and other under-aged tournaments. Nice work if you can get it.

My point is at last weeks meeting we were looking for a John Hume figure (hard to imagine I know) to bring in some high profile friendly opposition surely Milo and John Delaney networked with some of the leading clubs and officials throughout Europe and must have built up some goodwill somewhere to get us some credible opposition to play a friendly with.

Milo you owe this club big time you've probably gotten more from Waterford Utd. than any other person ever, good luck to you but he need something back right now !

What do you lads think ?
