I wonder if Derry or UCD will be fined for the flare in that poxy, cramped little wooden stand?

like 6-2 last season, yesOriginally Posted by dancinpants
In the overall context, winning the League Cup, is about as important as winning the U-21 league. As for the Setanta Cup, Derry had already booked their place in next year's tournament via the league, so the bonus prize on offer turned out to be irrelevant.Originally Posted by dortie
Yeah, coz Rovers are in a position to dismiss ANY trophy as unimportant!!! BTW thats why you'll never win the trebleOriginally Posted by mypost

Good to see Shamrock Rovers are in such financial health they can sneer at the revenue (prize money and gate receipts) from winning the League Cup. God help your club if the new owners share your views, although I suspect they won't.
congrats Derry, and as I said on the Derry forum, ye can relax now and take it easy for the rest of the season
It's truly amazing how so many people can't read/understand posts here, even relatively simple ones, isn't it?

This isn't worth discussing. You equated winning the LC to winning the U-21's, ignoring the significant financial benefits that make the LC hugely more important.
If Rovers had won it I think we both know you wouldn't be on here wishing to swap it with an U21 trophy.
I ask again, maybe by making it a little bit clearer still......Originally Posted by OneRedArmy
