They gave their side a standing ovation at full time which was also nice to see. Town need to convert more of the chances they create. I reckon Carrick V Michaels will be a tighter affair with Carrick tipped to advance. Whoever they play hopefully Town can at last rectify their terrible final record. C'mon the TOWN.

whats the betting for a town-saints final..... saints 2 up when it comes to munster finals...... 2001...3-0 2005....1-0

Personally I would love to see an all TSDL final again. Its probably even money for the semi but I fancy Carrick to progress. Whats Michaels record against Carrick? Have they played before?

Carrick have played Saints twice this season. The Munster Senior Cup and in a pre-season friendly in Cahir.

Carrick won twice but in fairness the stakes are higher next Saturday.

yip carrick won 2-1 aet in senior cup and 3-1 in a friendly so on that carrick are favourites..but i wouldn't write of st michaels...they are at their most dangerous when they are underdogs... James walsh breeno davy ryan kevin o sullivan aaron all match winners..... will be a great game and occasion hopefully there will be a big crowd which will be befitting... its great that it will be an all "TIPP" final for the 3rd year in a row whatever happens....

There is conflict between k.o. times for Saturday's game. TSDL fixture list states 5.30 while Waterford one says 5.00. Seeing as last Sunday's FAI semi was down for k.o. @ 3.00 in some places (aertel for one) it seems to be happening again. Should be a good game - especially if weather keeps fine. If Carrick stay disciplined I reckon they'll win but it will be tight. So 2-1 to Carrick aet.

    Munster Junior Cup Semi-Final
    Carrick United 0 St. Michael's 1.

Carrick were very poor on the night and after this performace, I wouldn't bet against Saints doing back to back Munster Junior Cups.

    Carrick V Saints

Carrick played into Michaels hands last night by lobbing nearly every ball into the box. They were never going to win an aerial battle against Walsh and Breen who won nearly everything in the air. Carrick didn't string 4 passes together for the entire match. They are a better side than this performance but just got the tactics wrong last night. Michaels are very good at closing out a game. Lets see how they cope when Towns wingers get behind them? I presume it will be Cahir park for the final. Any idea of the date.

Some of what you have said is right but a few further points. Firstly, Carrick lost the game yesterday on the line. Either they did not have enough fit squad players to make changes early in the second half or else they thought that plan A would eventually work. Either way, taking off Power and leaving on McSharry beggered belief. Carrick's wingers got no ball because the Saints midfield were dominant. Therefore if Saints dominate midfield against Clonmel Town they will again ensure that the two wingers get no ball. Clonmel lack sufficient punch up front to worry Breen and Walsh. I just hope that Clonmel Town have a plan B if plan A fails because Carrick obviously didn't lat night.

must admit i fancy saints to win mc hugh and coady not good enough to trouble saints defence think they are too small. unless they go with tony scully up front with coady maybe. kevin o sullivan, higgins , james walsh and breeno are def best players in there positions at junior level in ireland if not the country

Castlebar Celtic played a lot like St. Michaels today and, despite having 89 minutes to reverse Celtic's early score, Clonmel Town were unable to force a breakthrough. Having watched both Clonmel and St. Michaels this weekend, Saints have got to be favourites as I don't believe that Clonmel Town have the knack or the guile to come from behind against teams like Castlebar or St. Michaels. Expect a repeat of last years final I'm afraid.

Town seemed to do the same as Carrick on sat...play into the hands of castlebar lobbing balls to Dykes and his partner... Ian Barnes was a disgrace..his set piece delivery and his free kicks were shocking...i think town lost it on sideline..John shanahan switched from midfield to left winger to left fulll..... raymie condon is a left full playing centre half and davis is a right full playing centre half..both were exposed badly for the goal..like the red sea opened up... and at that level it only take's 1 minute of stupidity to cost you... the guy from dungarvan is a centre half playing right full.. players cannot be expected to play out of position..tony scully is beter coming onto the ball than holding it up..even though when he went up front i thought he did ok..paul scully didn't play well...not sure about that new keeper...
no matter what is said though..clonmel town are clonmel town..there are a good team very professional and will be ready for a final with saints...as i have always said about town--saints games it will be a case of form goes out the window and its who takes their chances( makes mistakes ) on the day.. i will finish on the point that its great for the ts&dl to have an all Munster junior final for the 3rd time in six years..

    Town V Saints

I have to agree the tactics against Castlebar were certainly flawed. Also too many of the players had off days, barnesey in particular had a shocker. However I wouldn't write him off just yet. This year alone he has hit half a dozen free kicks that no keeper in the country would have saved. Town will certainly have to change their strategy for the final as a repeat of yesterdays performance will certainly end in disaster. On the plus side the players shouldn't require any motivation to reverse form against St Michaels. For some of the older players (scully, raymie, boland, blanche) it may be their last chance to win a Munster. The powerbase of munster football has certainly shifted to the southeast. Long may it continue. Heres to a good final. BTW anyone have any idea of the final date?

it should be a great occasion again... town saints game are very hard to call.... i belive 6th may sat night has been mentioned? town will have it tough in carrick tomorrow night.... rumour has it adrian walsh and paul breen maybe getting a call up for international squad.. i saw gerry smith at saints game and again at town game on sunday with james walsh.. i believe he was done looking at Ian barnes.. any truth in the rumour he played a gaelic game on sat evening and then had his 21st where he had a few pints... not stirring just asking

Sat night should ensure a great crowd and atmosphere weather permitting. As for Rock Rovers Paddy Power wont even quote odds on a punch up. Its a racing certainty. Not too many people will shed a tear if they are relegated. With regards to Barnes- He played the last 15 mins of an under21 match sat night then headed to his 21st where i can confirm no pints were consumed. On sundays performance Gerry Smith wont be inviting him to play for Ireland. Pity because he has turned in a lot of 5 star performances this year. Breen continues to get better and warrants a shout whilst Adrian walsh cal up is long overdue.

i'll echo that about rock they are no good for the league.....it is a pity because even though with his attitude he annoys me at times he is a very decent player.. good to see cahir back in and old bridge will be hard to beat down there..pity about their ground though..are they still in green lane...

I think its about time Carrick gave Minge his marching orders, he is no good to any team!
Sent off last weekend against Michaels (MJC)
Sent off in their game against Pike (FAI JC)
I was at the game on Saturday and from the kick off all Minge wanted to do was hurt someone.
Scum is the word that comes to mind whem talking about Minge!
Has he the same mentality off the pitch???
