"The current record for the strongest brew is held by American firm the Boston Beer Company.
Samuel Adams Utopias is 25% alcohol and costs around £56 for a 24oz bottle."
thats about E77 for about 600ml?expensive night out
24 fl oz is 1.2 pints. However, as it's six times the strength, you're looking at 7 pints at once! Plus less water to absorb the alcohol. I think one of those and you'd be gone.
As Billy Connolly might say:
We'll have two pints of that so!
I'm sure there's someone in the US frantically trying to brew a 26% beer as we speak.

I don't see how it could be so much worse. I mean it's still weaker then whiskey and vodka??

8% Belgium Beer is nasty enough so i'd be surprised if 25% beer was even drinkable - i wonder if nasty taste...
I can't see it being drinkable to be honest, and can't for the life of me understand why anybody would want to drink something thats going to K.O. them so suddenly, and have the potential to actually kill you.
I drank a litre of some 12% german beer when i was in Rome. The waiter started to laugh at me when he brought it to the table and now i know why.I was half banjoed after it.It was lovely to drink and it gave the desired effect all for €6 a litre.A bargain in my book.
I also drank a cup of home made brew before and it felt like i had drank about 6 or 7 pints.Real potent stuff.

Try a bottle of Duvel. It's 8.5%, and although you feel a bit of warmth from the alcohol, it's very tasty, and very drinkable.
There are plenty of good beers in the 6-9% range (without going near muck like 'super'). I'm sure there are some fine barley wines aswell.

There's a French beer around the 12 or 13% mark in the Porter house. Quite potent stuff.

I'm not saying its not drinkable just wouldn't want to drink at the pace of regular beer or you be on the floor very quickely. By that reasoning can only imagine what 25% will do...Originally Posted by noby
I don't know. I've never gone down that road. I can drink about 10 bottles and still not be ridiculously drunk.Originally Posted by Drumcondra Red
