    2025 Arrivals and Departures

A little bit early for next season but interesting Farrugia’s future still up in the air,Pats and Derry would certainly be interested I’d imagine and he’d be on the radar of clubs across the water aswell.

Towell and Kavanagh heading for the exit door according to LOI central aswell……

I wonder will Towell link up with Kenny again at Pat’s.

I don’t think there’s any way he’ll be re-signed by Rovers, he’s probably one of their best paid players but rarely starts.

Rory Gaffney was linked with us last season. I’d obviously be concerned about his fitness but Caulfield loves experience, so if he fancies another season of LoI he might end up with us.

I could see there being a big enough clear out at Rovers, Jack Byrne another one who’s been linked with Pat’s previously.

Have seen the odd rumour about Towell to Pats recently, would be a pretty funny one given how much stick has gone back and forth between himself and the fans in the last few years. Not sure how much truth is in it but it would seem to be the case that he's off anyway.

Was a while ago and seems to have gone quiet since, but I'd heard there was something in the idea of Adam O'Reilly returning to us this winter. In terms of outgoings Jamie Lennon to the States may become a possibility again and some folk seem quite certain that Melia will be off.

    Id expect
Pohls, Steacy, Kavanagh, Poom, Burns, Mandroiu (money), (Farrugia unfortunately) Greene , Gaffney, Kenny (Celtic will prob get more loan money somewhere else and McNulty (why was this guy signed) ??? to all be gone by January.
If we win the league which is still more unlikely then likely that will determine whether we replace with experience or using our academy in the mix.

11 players . Mandroiu , Farrrugia and Kenny the only ones that would weaken us really and we need more young players in the team or we will have another year of "unpredictable and unfortunate" injuries

Edit: completely forgot about Towell , 100% gone as well.

Think Richie Towell will be gone too and wouldnt be surprised St Pats will sign him! Heard he reacted badly to not being brought on last weekend!
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

Pohls is going nowhere and I'm imagine Greener will get another contract, and well deserved to imo.

Depending on how they fare on the European stage, Danny,Farrugia,Kenny could leave Rovers.
Gaffney is crocked and towell is a crock of $hit so don't expect either of those to be at Rovers next year
Kavanagh and Poom may go but only if not offered contract's.

    Valeo

Anyone else hear they might be packing up and leaving at seasons end?

What exactly would be left there if they're gone?

I certainly bloody hope not. Wouldn’t touch him with a barge pole. I’d take Graham Burke off Rovers hands though
Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.

Be very surprised if Towell ends up at Pats.

Lennon moving to USA been mentioned for a few months now, so would not be suprise.

Kenny made a few big signings in mid season (Anang, Elbouzedi, Keena) so wonder will this mean a quieter upcoming transfer window

Assume Melia stays 1 more season

Unless we have a raft of departures I wouldn’t expect Kenny to go crazy. The squad looks pretty good to me as it stands. Losing Lennon would be a blow, and the Adam O’Reilly rumours would make sense if that were to happen. Like you I’d hope/expect to hang on to Melia for another season. I’m pretty excited about next year all in all. Pity this season is just ending a bit too early for us. Still hoping we can get Europe though.

Towell to Pat's looks nailed on, as does Jack Byrne to Shels, apparently. That being said,I wouldn't be surprised if that ends up being Byrne to Pat's and Towel to Shels.
One thing's for sure ,I expect neither of them to be playing for Rovers next season.

If I was a betting man, I could see kavanagh, towell and maybe even Greener at shels next season as duff seeks to replicate the Rovers team, the main attraction for them being the chance to work with Joey again.

Is it that Byrne wants to leave or is he seen as surplus to requirements due to being very injury prone?

My feeling, and it's just a feeling,is that Byrne want's a new challenge, and gives the impression of someone who's not exactly content with life at the moment. He has always spoke quite glowingly about shels and has a good connection with Joey O'Brien I think.
Irrespective of whether Rovers win the league or not this year, I really feel THIS TIME the fabled Rovers clear out will actually come to pass
Theres may be a sense of the European Conference league jaunt being a "once more for the boys" event before everyone goes their separate ways, and if that's the case so be it.

Byrne surely won’t be going anywhere unless there’s been some sort of serious fallout at rovers which there doesn’t appear to be given he still plays for them (albeit not from the start every game). He’s the top earner in the league and just signed a long term contract in November of last year

I also agree and can’t see him moving anywhere within the league ( unless someone wants to pay us a transfer fee of €500k) .

I also expect Greene to stay with us and Gaffney ( unless he retires ) ; I expect the rest of the exits as mentioned to go ahead .

I like Greener he always gives 100% never whines about game time but is always ready to come on.
Id be happy if he stayed tbh but for the odd 20 mins here and there surely we should be giving an oppurtunity to a young kid who might be worth a few bob as a sales target.
He was a reluctant addition to the list of possible departures from me

Really can’t see Jack Byrne moving to anyone else in this league unless it’s Pats under Kenny.

Rovers arent going to let him walk for nothing so unless PAts pay a big fee it isnt going to happen.
JAck has looked something like himself the last few games.
He made some agressive runs with the ball that he hasnt been doing and was fighting to get the ball back, hopefully will stay fit and be a major asset next year.
He pretty much won the league for us on his own in 2020 we will need him more than ever in 2025
