Harkin can play. Been a very good addition to the squad.
Liam Smith leaving Bohs to join St. Johnstone. The defence is a bit threadbare and prone to injuries so I'm surprised we've let him leave. He was probably gone at the end of the season but he was decent squad depth.
Athlone Towns new ownership hired Steven Grey as our new CEO. Met with fans this evening detailing plans to mend some bridges with wider community and businesses in the town, which if successful will be long overdue.
Plans to invest more money into the men's team from next season.
Dan mcdonnell reporting Victor oshianvuna transfer agreed and will be announced next week. At least 2m up front rising to 4m with add ons and a 'healthy' sell on clause. Thats some amount of cash for a 16 yesr old who isnt even a regular starter. He isnt physically ddveloped the way Noonan id tbf so he has improvement in him

That’s great money and also unbelievable money
25bn for Elding at current market rates (if we get 1m will be amazing)
In recent years, Dundalk have not had much income from transfers to foreign clubs. Just wondering how much credence to give Pete O'Rourke's story (today) that Celtic and Norwich are leading the interest in centre-back Vinnie Leonard.

Well known around town he will be signing a pre contract with someone before the window closes
A superb player who at 17 plays like a 30 yr old centre half. A born leader and he can play football too
According to James Rogers, the fee is going to be bigger than the fee we got for Keogh a few weeks ago and it was a club record
No id say there's absolutely no chance we get anywhere close to a million to be fair
Word is German and Italian clubs are also interested. I prefer to see lads going further away than the UK
The clubs abroad seem to take care of their players more. In England if a club doesn't fancy you or you fall out of favour they just forget about you
Best talent I have seen come through the club in years and a case of when not if he will move. Would love to see him move to the continent rather than a British club as I think it would massivly aid his progression. Very intelligent player and the calmness on the ball and intelligent passes out of defence are beyond his years.
I used to moan about the real lack of young player development at Dundalk and top players going for nothing and now I want to moan about the loss of talent - no pleasing some people! There is definitely something more exiting about a player signing to the continent. English young player development has changed and improved in recent times from when it was just handier to sign a fairly cheap ready made player from Portugal or South America, mayve FFP has had some actual benefit to the game in that respect. I know if I had the choice betweeen say Burnley and Fiorentina which one I'd pick or pints in Wetherspoons v espresso in the Polish Cafe in Florence....maybe Im projecting in old age!
Defo seems to be a minset to see what the continent has to offer. Look at Liam Kerrigan. Just moved to Serie C team Terana on loan from Serie A team Como. He has become a bit of a journeyman unfortunately, bad injury didnt help. But he has lived in Northern Italy and now central Italy ( and Belgium on loan too). Im sure he could have went to a L1 or L2 team in England but what a great experience he is having.
