Francely Lomboto gone to Sligo Rovers.

Galway United fans seemed to be glad to see him gone. I thought his next club would be in the First Division but obviously not.

Francely is probably one of the quickest and strongest players in the league. He's been a rough diamond for the past 5 years. He's got a lot of the raw attributes but has lacked composure so far in his career. A comparison to Darwin Nunez is probably kind to him but he does bring a certain chaos to a game but it's never clear who it's benefiting.

Think in the right circumstances is career could burst into life. That said I'm surprised he managed to find a sideways move.

Quickest, absolutely. Strongest? Nowhere near. He gets bullied off the ball regularly and often doesn't make it stick.

He was poor for us this season. Waweru who we farmed out to Cobh before joining Sligo is a far more accomplished player than Lomboto. He's quite lazy and very technically limited as a player, he relies heavily on his pace, and outside of that, he doesn't really offer much.

I think you're being overly fair in your assessment of him, he has shown little over the last few seasons to indicate that moving to Sligo will improve him. He's a poor player. He's not 20 or 21 anymore, he will be 25 next season.

Dervin has re-signed for Dundalk. Good few days for the club.

New sponsor and kit deal meant to announced next week and possible work starting soon on the pitch and lights too, and the biggest arrival of all, seems there is positive news on the licencing and that was one I was really fearful of.

Bookings taking off in the YDC for indoor pitches and gym, fxxx knows why it took until end of 2024 for this to happen, as it was an obvious revenue spinner.

I have no idea how they have made so much progress over the past few weeks, seems almost dare I whisper, a positive vibe around the place.

Nothing like nearly going out of existence to focus minds.

In a strange way getting relegated is almost a blessing in disguise and gives you time to do a major overhaul and reset.

Glad to see things are progressing in the right direction and you will have a club next season.

Sometimes its no harm to go down, re-charge, re-org, then again in our scene it was fully deserved to go down, easily the worst in the PD last season.

I didn't see a single home win this season, missed all 4 wins, mix of holidays and just couldn't bring myself to go when Kinger got appointed ! Chance to win games now, and at least a match to go to on Fridays and that wasn't looking good in Sept !

It was exactly this that made our year in the FD in 2010 so enjoyable. Plus, you get to go away grounds you mightn't have been to in years.
In saying all that, one season was enough!

Good few of us already looking at Kerry away, fly down from Dub, eur60 return, bit of craic.

Always thought that was admirable by SK for Derry, he could have easily walked away that season when you were 'moved' to the FD.

Didn't Dundalk pay a fee for Dervin? Seems a bit weird that they'd do that and yet his contract expired at the end of the season. Unless there was some kind of clause to do with relegation in his contract that got him out of the club and he's decided to sign back anyway.

Did that two seasons ago it was great craic. Drove up and down last season, it was painful

He is just the type of player they need and will rely on to get them back up.

Dervin didn't do too much wrong for Dundalk. He is a good tenacious player, with some holes in his game.

He is definitely held back by his lack of efficiency on the ball. It is nearly the simple passes that he can struggle with the most.

In saying that, never looked out of place in Premier division, and has First Division experience. All the caveats with any player regarding off field stuff... But am sure he is capable of being in the divisions team of the year next season.

Simon Power has signed for Pats on a (my username). I think most would be in agreement that he’s an excellent player but he’s had a lot of problems with injuries. He probably won’t start over Mulraney or Elbouzedi but he’s a great backup option if he can keep himself available
