Sidenote, but those 2 lads played for De Town, I wonder could we make an XI of ex Town lads who have been in bother with the law. Colm James and Joe Gorman are another 2 that come to mind

We have 1 in our current squad who's had a brush with the law before too, so that's the 5 a side team sorted at least...

Came here to say I hope nothing is wrong with him but that's worrying to hear. Hope he gets better soon and we see him on sidelines again somewhere

Best wishes to Ollie. JC was really struggling before Ollie came on board, our run of bad form over the past few months coincided with him stepping away for treatment.
Jon Daly seems like a decent fella to have as assistant manager, though I don't know a whole lot about him. Anyone with an opinion on him?

Just listening to OTB live now and Shane Keegan rates Jon Daly very highly as a coach.
Gary Cronin is he the right man to manage Longford Town?

Hope Ollie returns to good health soon, he’s one of the brilliant characters that makes the LOI what it is. Jon Daly is a classy individual and a good coach too, a good choice by Caulfield/Galway

All the best Ollie. I was wondering the other day what John Daly was up to. Think he got a mention on a podcast last week and it got me thinking.

Not a fan of Jon Daly. Felt he gave up as a manager last year despite the players always battling. It was clear that he didnt want to be at Dundalk.

I get there were financial troubles at Dundalk...

But keeping Goddard in goal, Jamie Gullan playing as a lone striker (especially because we had success when we changed systems) , and not using O'Kane and Hakiki enough... Dont rate him much football wise...

    ....

Wish all Horgan the best and hope all the rumours are just that.

Only Ollie could turn things around for a struggling Jesus Christ, he did the footballing equivalent of the loaves and fishes at Finn Harps for sure! I really hope he will be back in full health and sitting in the stands with his feet up again sooner than later!!

Is Daly still based in Scotland and so commuting to Galway? He must not have found much coaching work on the go closer to home to be taking up an assistant role the opposite side of the country. His appointment at Dundalk was a bit meh, didnt improve anything in his time, tried little to get things working but yeah it wasnt a good enviornment for succes either. Its hard to see how he'd compliment Caulfield with both having very different styles on how they'd set up a team.

Sound bloke Jon. His time at Pats feels like a missed opportunity in his career. We won the cup playing really nice football then started the following season with high expectations and we were absolutely dreadful. He is an approachable sort but might not necessarily go along with your opinion, which I like. The current set up with SK has gone down a different road and they don’t really go anywhere near the supporters. Good luck to him in the new job and best wishes to Ollie.

After winning the 8th preseason in a row its was a bit harsh on him, the league and cup just became distractions!

Paddy Kirk training with Dundalk and trying to sort out his papers to sign for the club as a free agent. Hopefully he does that really soon 😉
Honestly thought he'd retired from the game?

Yeah he had chosen to stop playing alright but he’s only just gone 27 so it’s not like the legs are gone or anything. Should do well at Dundalk

I read a while back he'd taken up professional photography. I'd say from that interview a short break from football was something he needed.
Hello, hello? What's going on? What's all this shouting, we'll have no trouble here!

Not many countries you can step down a level and get a pay rise.
