League Cup final - Cigars, steak and other stuff

As the League Cup final is a special occasion I think it should be celebrated as such.

I'll be going into Fox's on College Green to buy cigars before the final. I'm going to buy some Romeo y Julieta No. 1s for the match. I'm willing to take orders for anyone else who wants some.

They cost around 12/13 euro (I'll get an exact figure tomorrow and let you know). If I buy a box, possibly 10 probably 25, they'll costs a euro or two less per cigar. Again I'll check this in the morning.

I plan on getting two for myself but if anyone else wants any let me know.

I'm also planning on getting a steak post-match in the Montrose but as many of the regulars know (as I annoyed them talking about it last night) they had stopped serving by the time we arrived.

I recommend that anyone interested get together, work out in advance how many of us want to get steak and ask Charlie a week or so in advance to set some aside for us. Again let me know and I'll get on to him.

One possible fly in the ointment to the steak plan is that there may be extra-time and penalties if it is level at the end of 90 minutes.

Well if Bald brings the cola and mullet brings the lemonade that would be even better.

As for the steak I reckon we can sweet talk Charlie into ensuring they're there in the event of extra time and penos!

After discussions with several posters, including Bald Student, Schumi and Student Mullet I've decided that it may be best to arrange the steak eating for before the game as some fans may be a little too inebriated to cope with it afterwards.

I recommend we meet in the Montrose around 5.20pm. It should take around 20 minutes for our steaks to arrive leaving plenty of time to eat them, drink some wine, and order dessert if so desired. Seeing as several posters here aim to be in Belfield for 7pm this would probably be a sensible course of action.

As for cigars I've had a couple of enquiries but I could do with being reminded of who wants some. There's still time to order them, just post a request here.

When my mate was with UCD he was always going on about the steak in the Montose when the team used to head down. It must be good so, I may have to drop in there one of these days and try it out.

Ad looks good alright, saw it last night. Has footage of Derry and us from previous live games, well put together.

Gentlemen,

Two things,

(1) Could anyone who wants a cigar please PM by no later than 4pm on Monday. I'll be going in Tuesday morning and that is the last time I will see them before then.

In the PM please include your real name and a contact number so I can find you in the ground on the night.

The approximate cost is 13 euro and they're bloody good.

(2) The steak session will go ahead at 5.20pm in the Montrose on Tuesday before the match. A steak, with chips & onion rings, and half bottle of wine costs 19.95.

Fellow posters who have tried the Montrose steak will vouch for it's great taste.
