Counterfeit PS2 games

As far as I know even if you bought legitimate copies of the games in Asia they would not work on a console that was sold on the Irish market as the games are regionalised. It is possible to get your console "chipped" whereby you get a chip installed so as to enable your console play games purchased outside of your region. The only problem with doing this is that if you get it done and subsequently you have a problem with the console, even if it's unrelated to the installation of the chip, the guarantee will not be honoured by Sony.

bought 5 games in a Kuala Lumpur market. yer man swore blind they'd work. none worked. only cost 1 euro a piece tho compared to the 16 euro i wasted in cyprus on 2 gfames that also didnt work.

you need to get your ps2 chipped to play copied or other region disks . there used to be a shop off cruise street that did it , maybe try the pc place down by the market near the round house

Yeah they are hard to install, I'd suggest you get someone to fit it as you usually need to re-wire some of the console - tho there is something called the "Swap-Disk" which I've heard is easier to do as it doesnt involve wires.
