THURSDAY APRIL 25
Jackie Lennox Under-17 League Cup Final
Cork City V Cobh Ramblers, Turner's Cross, 7.30pm
Cork City 2, Cobh Ramblers 3 AET.
Not an bad match, apart from the result. About 100 people turned up to see the match. Jamie Nolan got both city goals, if my memory serves me correctly!

nolan is he a prospect for th future?
Yes. He's only 16 or 17 but he's already training with the senior squad. I wouldn't be surprised if he made his full debut this season. Also look out for Kevin Murray (a classy centre half).Originally posted by fonzi

What's the point in City poaching Youth players from all the MSL underage clubs if they are still going to be playing in the MSL youth leauge. All that happens is that Young players don't play a competitive game for the 2 years they are with city youths as there is not another decent team in the MSL going to give them a game. They then get a culture shock when they graduate to the senior ranks and actually play teams that can give them a game.Young players would be better off staying with their local clubs playing in a competitive leauge and if they are good enough they will be spotted.(ie Mulconroy)
Yeah, he probabley is a good prospect. He is an excellent goalscorer but I feel that he needs to work on his all-round game.Originally posted by fonzi

Is anyone planning to get up out of bed for this one. I'll be there. If your not doing anything else, why not go down the 'cross to give the lads a bit of support.Originally posted by joe

2nd, they can be coached by better coaches (that have their UEFA Grade A Badges)
3rd There is a national youth cup, which City won the year before last
As I say, we're just young & a bit nieve.
Ok...it ended 2-1 to Ramblers....Richie Aherne scored Citys goal and Alan Leahy scored Ramblers 2...
City: Brendan O'Connell, Eddie Lyons, Richie Aherne, Kevin Murray, Eoin Brickley, Mickey Buckley, Darren Swaine, Joe Hurley, Mark O'Connell, Jamie Nolan, Stephen Heaphy.

anyway, last night the youths gained some measure of revenge with a 4-0 win over ramblers in bishopstown
That scoreline included a hatrick for Dean Buckley. Cobh rarely looked threatening and city had the better of the play for almost all of the match.Originally posted by joe
