Was at the Pike match. Decent game. Brendy Hughes scored two fine goals for the view, the second one from a great through ball by Gary Hannon.

It was worth the admission to hear Chalkie rantng like a loon when Lynch screwed up for Pikes second.(he could have made an attempt to catch the cross, but Alan Finnucane was left run the entire lenght o0f the pitch practically to cross it).

Both sides will get stronger, and the seasons beginning to hot up nicely.

    What about Granville beating Balla.....

Ya good game 2 excellent goals from huges well worked both of them involving 4 or 5 View players..Pike were all over the shop anytime Fairview kept the ball on the floor although i suppose a draw was fair enough considering they were behind twice .Thought Lynch was very suspect for Pikes second even though it was a good header by Morris

    Foot.ie! transfers

    Dirk,
Back in my playing days a long time ago, i thought that the player requesting a transfer had to get the club that he was leaving to sign a transfer form. Is the same procedure still in place or can pike sign any transfer that they wish..or are they just spreading rumours once again?

Much better football match than any of last years clashes with Hughes a standard above everyone else.Fairview centre of defence nonexistant ,followed closely by a ghost keeper. What was a simple cross he didnt even raise his hands to at the near post, for the ball to be simply headed home after that.Is Ian Bennet dropped or what???

I heard that he was at a wedding the night before ..He was there watching alright. Agree that Lynchy was caught for the second goal but other than that and the first goal I thought the View defence looked comfortable as all Pike were doing was a lot of hoofing and that suited the view defence ...If they played a bit more ball they would have troubled them big time cos they are fairly slow at the back alright.Pike seem to be lacking a squadthese days which is unusual with Bokans the only sub of note .The rest of the guys were B players as far as i could see..Fairview have a fairly strong squad with the likes of Jason Purcell, Barry Heffenan Gaga and the 2 minor lads on the bench, i still think they are lacking another goalscorer tro partner Dave Wall though.Rossi is much better on the right IMO

pike were missing a couple of players, and a few players were starting there first game of the season having just returned from injury, including Martin O'Neill, if he was fit then Fairviews defence would have being troubled more. Pike will improve in the coming weeks, theres no doubt about that... I expect pike and fairview to be challenging for the league at the end. Carew won't be far off either but there discipline is a joke and will limit their chances. Balla haven't started the season at all well, even tho they beat pike 2-1 in bateman. Two loses to park (at home) and granville (away) already puts pressure on them straight away. Theres a long way to go, and IMO alot of the top teams are going to be taking points off each other. Boro have made a good start but can't see them lasting the pace.
