Well, if you want me to admit that the FAI are muppets, I'll gladly do it.
Things are far from perfect in this regard, I'll acknowledge that. But fining the home team isn't the way to improve things.
You still did not answer my fundamental question? If we take action and ban people from our games, yet the FAI insist on the fact that there is no need for a central log of banned people, how can we be responsible for actions these people carry out at away games? Especially considering that we are one of the clubs that want this log. Surely if a fan is causing problems in a ground it is up to the security at that ground to tackle this issue, not fine a club that has already banned this person.Originally Posted by pineapple stu

I am not necessarily disagreeing with you, but fining the away team is also not the answer. Plenty of clubs do not have enough security so away fans will act the fool. If they can do so and not get thrown out etc they will continue to do so. I cannot see how this can be the clubs fault, when they may have done all in their power to stop it. Also cannot see how they are legal as such, as only one club on the night has responsibility.Originally Posted by pineapple stu
Home teams shouldn't get fined for away fans behaviour, neither should the aways fans Club, that's just daft. Just work out a way of banning these people and stop throwing fines at already cash strapped clubs.
I've noticed over the last few weeks that pitch invasions and the likes at Rovers and Bohs are seen as akin to the Nazi invasion of Poland. While at other clubs incidents of brick throwing and pitch invasions etc are seen as acts by "pesky kids" There's definite double standards by the FAI when it comes to dealing with certain clubs.
I think this will carry on into next season when the annual licence scamaton gives us all a week of "who did and who didn't" as regards the licence. Only for everyone to miraculously get their **** together in 3/4 days and get the licence in the end. With Rovers and Bohs both under the microscope for fines I wonder will the same double standerds carry on to the licence as well.
