Butler decentz not great.
Murphy decent, not great.
O'Connell great.
O'Connell would have been a huge asset. Imagine all the time he spent with them recently. Pointless waste of time.
They still have Murphy, Hickey and O'Donnell. If Hennessey signed too then plenty of match winners.
Coachford, Grattan, Castleview, Watergrasshill and Village. Should be a good Premier. Hopefully fixtures are fair to give people a fair chance. Grattan or whoever else shouldn't have to play loads while Coachford do nothing.
I think nocka are gonna surprise a lot of people this year all negative talk about them on this and I’m hearing they have a squad of 20 and new keeper and Murphy still be there if there stuck a lot will tell in a few weeks there yet to have a friendly so we will see
Are castleview B going to Div 3 ? Joke shop if they are
It’s what I’m hearing from what I see off you I think you have some personal issues with them as a club it’s a bit sad grow up and support all the teams in the aul
I see Grangevale officially announced on CBL page of the move from AUL.
Grangevale to the CBL officially announced. Don’t blame them one bit, best of luck to them. Surprised more AUL teams haven’t followed suit.
While the CBL are announcing new teams to their league online the AUL are uploading photos of a game from 1979 between Hillington and doneraile united.

Think Hillington won that game..haha!
Very fair point. The onky thing id question is are grangevale now just chasing th le easy medals as they warent gonna be any threat in premier this year?
They have dropped the standard they are playing at massively now..but maybe besting hungry tigers fc 12nil might appeal to their social media page?
I’d be inclined to agree with you much less of a challenge in the shipping league for them.
They had great success over the past numbers of years to get to very top would have needed a big influx of top players to be really competitive in premier AUL.
They would probably have had to go backwards to go forwards in the AUL and there is nothing wrong with that.
The shipping league is an easier option for them especially if they go in at the bottom.
And even we’re they to go in at the highest level will be easier for them now with the Cow gone.
They will fit in easily as they play up in Mayfield where a lot of shipping league games take place.
And their social media presence will suit each other very well also.
I think this move is laughable to be honest . If they had any ambition which they clearly don't they would have tried to go MSL?
They know they arent going to achieve anything in the AUL unless they get relegated so off to the CBL to win some easy trophies. Good luck Grangevale , you washed your 70 plus years of history down the drain as far as I am concerned
Not sure MSL would take them without their own ground.
The chance to win trophies definitely contributed to the move but I’d imagine the chance to play regularly on Astro in an organised league in mayfield counted too. Say what you want about grangevale they love the game and always want to play ball so all you can do is wish them well. The CBL social media will suit them down to the ground too. A good club gone from the AUL.

No I think you're right Kevin , any club that sees the “business” league as a step up, you need to question their ambition , climbed through the leagues in the AUL and then after one year in premier left shows a lack of self believe or basically admitting that you don’t have the bottle for it. Sure the Aul has a lot to learn but at the end of the day no one talks about great games in CBL, they talk about the coverage.
We will know all about why Grangevale went over there by what division they pop up in ,if it’s anything other than the premier division we will all know why they went.
If a few photos on Facebook and Instagram is why lads are playing football then they would want their head examined.

By your logic any decent player in the AUL doesn’t have the bottle to play senior and is hanging around junior cos they lack self belief. Sometimes ya just have to do what’s right for yourself as a player and the club has to do what’s best for the club to keeps things going. The AUL has a lot to learn?? That’s a fact! I’d love to see them do something with all this learning. Absolutely no vision from the AUL committee. Don’t be surprised too when more players start switching to the CBL and MsL jnr. Social media is important this day and age whether you like it or not and stuff like combined team of the season keeps clubs and players engaged.
While all that might be a side mission for players but in team games these are only bonuses and matter little.
Take Patrick Horgan for example in hurling he would give up all the individual accomplishments for an all Ireland medal.
It plays to individual rather than the team.
Any one serious about their football really won’t care about these things.
You are aim will be to be successful with your club and drive them as far as you can get your club.
When you are chatting with your pals 10 years after it’s finished you will be chatting about your success together not the day your photo was on Instagram
I think the Secretary of grangevale happens to be a committee’ member of the CBL.
