Desmond back firing for the Hill tonight..
Should be good game for me think Grattan might sneak it but will all the changes up in village can they break the Grattan Voodoo over the years it’s never they’ve always played well but still came up short as a neutral I’ll enjoy this one
Desmond back firing for the Hill tonight..
No doubting the lads talent is absolute class but only having him part time is a killer for club as showed last few months their a match for any team at full strength without gaa players their just like that Hill of years ago
Going to try to get up to it if I can get out of work early, up in villages pitch I would have fancied them, wider longer pitch, they’re up against it in O Neill park because nobody can match grattans power imo, hopefully a good game, last one was a classic
Agree Ball think grattan at home could swing it but as I being saying for months Grattan first 11 is very strong after that they really don’t have much on the bench so Village could sneak it if Grattan pick up injuries but here’s to a classic
Missed the first 20, after that it was a battle, village played lovely ball, Grattan were relentless battering on the door, physical game but think Jim hennessey spoiled what still turned out to be a cracker from becoming a classic, two happy with the whistle, for both sides. Grattan don’t know when they’re beat, credit to village equalising in extra time to take it to penalties, just felt Grattan physicality gave them the edge in the end. Keniry scored one of the great AUL goals a bicycle kick first time from a cross, Lee got a brilliant header, Spitere got a great solo goal, a gorta long throw made the keeper spill one on the line. Village are just lacking that little something to get over the line. Grattan done what grattan do, grind out the win
That Jim Hennessy was absolutely atrocious today. He ruined what would have been potentially the best game in the AUL all year. Took all the pace out of the game and made more than a few terrible calls for both teams. He's consistently bad week in and week out. Great battling from both teams, though, was still a great watch. Plenty of action and that bicycle kick was an absolute peach.
Totally agree Potato he’s poor Ref think Village can feel hard done by grattan player mile offside for 1st goal how Jim didn’t see it is beyond me and then gave offside against them when they were in on goal terrible call to but village as I said can’t get over the line against Grattan personally for me don’t think Coachford will be worrying to much watching that today but another final for the Norries
Not to be attacking the lad personally but I think the amount of offsides he calls has a lot to do with him not being able to keep up with play
That game today would have been difficult for any ref to officiate, great hostile game with plenty of bite but no nasty challenges, Murphy had a great chance to square it at 2-1 up and could of made it 3-1 at Half time thought village were on top in the period but Grattan came back into a great game a draw would have been a fair result Grattan got over the line on penalties, thought Jim got calls wrong for both sides so no team hard done by overall I think, the goals village conceded were poor I thought but credit to the gratts
Agree on that city, he wasn’t biased, just got a lot of calls wrong
I found that Jim was poor killed the game , didn’t rob either team he robbed them both by not leaving it flow and shocking decisions,
Great goal by Lee to kick it off , then same with Kiniry mins after and before the break murphy tidy finish ,
Second half they came out wanting it more with Spitere firing into the far corner and unlucky to not get the win in normal time,
Pity for Lee coming off for gratan so early with injury he looked dangerous again he’s village’s nightmare
Welcome back Reff any update on rumour you were spreading last week about knocks lad
If I was with Waterloo I’d be looking into it , other than that couldn’t give a toss about it Ref , happy to see the knocka group back in form and hope they stay at it now and bring the real derbys back to the northside
You changed your tune hahaha you wanted um out of AOH during the week you and your buddy Ros now your wishing um well hahaha be good to see few derbys next year castleview Knocka Grattan or as Knocka lads were calling um last night when they were pinting Ratting hahaha
Best of luck to Coachford today representing the AUL in the MJC in Clare.
Totally agree Joe hopefully this is the year they finally do the treble it be well deserved and hopefully today they can pull off another victory miles ahead of everyone in Aul
Anything can happen in a cup match so I don't think I'd say the AOH and Mossie are crumbs to be fair and the league is still going with Grattan still to face Coachford twice. So I don't know about crumbs off there tabke just yet. But again in saying that Coachford in my opinion would still be big favorites with the form their in to do the double or even triple if the gaa coming back doesn't screw them in the later part of the season.
I'm hearing it was the Gratten camp that tipped off Waterloo about possibility of knocknaheeney celtic fielding an illegal player even before it was put up on this forum, I think they need to get there own house in order before getting involved in other clubs business, even though they are winning games heard there is fierce unrest up in their club, doesn't matter who won yesterday because it is only gonna be a training session for coachford in the final and they had shown that in previous seasons when both teams met in turner's cross.
