I played with John at the end of me mediocre career. Great player and striker. I also played with Jamie i just can't see John getting 40 goals this season for Village I hope im wrong. If John gets the service he will bang them in, Jamie had to create a lot of goals by himself. It's a real pity Jamie isn't there this season with Johnny C.
No one is finishing above coachford for the next 3 years . But keep on knocking village . The most hard working club in the AUL . Even if they get relegated it doesn’t matter . They will be back again next year . Not like other clubs . Most clubs in the AUL would fold if the went down . It’s not about winning with village and it never was .
The best young players In mayfield are now after signing. The future looks brilliant . Knock village all you want . No one will score more goals then Jamie . He’s at another level
Next 3 years is very precise. Im not trying to knock Village, I watch most of their games and live in the Area I hope they do well I really do. I do hope im proved wrong and they build/kick on from this season into the next one. Most hardworking club now that is up for big debate but as a Village man I suppose you're going to think and say that, rightly so. I wouldn't agree with the comment it's not all about winning, you have to driven and want to win in football. If Village went down I dont think John and a few more would stick around, unfortunately thats the way football is now. Players just jump ship. As for the best young players in Mayfield im not too sure on that, I dont know these lads but by judging by the average age of Mayfield United Seniors that's where the best young players are at.

Going to weigh in on this, watched John for over a decade in the AUL, watched a good bit of Jamie last season, different type of players, Jamie is almost like Salah, quick knows where the goal is loves goals, a better passer than people give him credit for, but his main thing and the difference between the two I feel is physicality, he’s strong a bull, lads were trying to tackle him and bouncing off him, which is why he was able to make so many goals for himself, he had a great relationship with that Aaron Hennessy on the other wing.
John is a great player, always was, I’ll get the bad out of the way, I never liked his attitude, if he’s having a tough game he blames the reff, it’s that simple. On the other hand he is one of the best pure strikers I’ve seen play junior football, deadly touch, great passer, clever movement and seems to hit at least the target with every single strike, both fantastic players.
I won’t say they would have won something if John was there last year because I don’t think many senior teams outside the top 4-5 beat that current coachford side let alone an AUL one, but they could have made it interesting.
Buster what do you mean hardest working club? Not having a dig genuinely curious. Also I think winning should be what matters, if you just want to take part play in the shipping league so you can watch Doolans win everything for the sake of having fun with your buddies
Fish we all know you aren’t involved with village, it was castleview until March ffs
Good to see silver mint make a return to the thread
Hard working with fund raising and just doing loads for the community. Lenny has something on once a month . Winning is what matters my point being if village get relegated the next 2 years there still will be a village . It’s more than a club . It means too much to people up there . Then lads going back to the cow knowing they’re going to win everything easily . Why not stay with village and try and challenge coachford. If Village beat coachford in any game it would be worth more then any medal In the shipping league
Village have one team good on them for doing a few bits and pieces but that doesn’t make them the hardest working club in the AUL.
Plenty clubs within the AUL have more than 1 team and then there is clubs with underage structures that’s work daily and all year round.
With that in mind Village are no where near the hardest working club in the AUL.
To be fair to them great to get the younger lads involved and if every one team club put in the effort they do the AUL would be a much better place.
As for mattering to people if it mattered that much why is there so many comings and goings?
As for the Corcoran lad a top player but he isn’t the CLUB man they are looking for.
Just look at the list of clubs he has played for he is in it for himself as for his temperament the less said the better!!!
Ya in fairness Lenny is doing the community well and building a well run club can't argue there. I agree with the Doolans Cow bit, easier for them to head back they should of stuck around and tested themselves again against Coachford, they were unlucky at home against them. Can't give Coachford 1 goal never mind 3. As someone stated here aswell I suppose they are Doolans players so always gonna head back.
Lads im gonna take a break from this forum. One of my pals was sent an abusive text message last night by someone claiming they knew that they were AverageJoesGym on this website. While they were wrong and my identity wasn't given away, there is no need for any kind of abusive over this site or football in general. No one on this site gives their identity away so why should i. I might see be back in the new season.
Stay safe
Totally agree Joe saying that I get them all the time haha
Mad thing is average joe is one of the only fellas on here who doesn’t get narky and personal when someone disagrees with him or take personal shots at any players in the league, strange one
I’m the same Ball I don’t get narky either
I’m gona stick around because no-one knows who I am either.
I see Bweeng are looking for players and a manger sound in real trouble.
On a positive note Sullane are joining from the west cork league, along with two b teams.
Anyone hear anything else?
It can't be easy recruiting for Bweeng given where they are and the pitch they play on.
I see that Mogeely ate entering a second team.
So that’s at least 4 new teams.
Will surely have to restructure the divisions.
Grattan B team is back this year I’ve heard? And I heard about Sullane too, be interesting to see where they’re put.
