Sounds like a spirited village performance, did they deserve anything from the game or were coachford in first gear?

Knocka and Wanderers would only add to the premier next season.

Despite the homage to all things Coachford from the all hearing and seeing ref, the rumor mill is saying Coachford will be in transition next season.

Rockmount ,,,,,,,, manager and players are en route.

Pub talk on the Northside, but isn't every good rumor started in a pub on the Northside.

Wednesday the merrygo round continues .

Coachford are going to the seaside for the Springfield roll over and Grattan will travel to face off against half of Mayfield on an off the pitch once again.

    Never gets dull.

    Village 3-5 Coachford.

A great game up in silverheights. Village took the lead after a minute, Village turned the ball over and after some good build up play from Jamie Murphy and Hennessy on the wing, Hennessy drove a low cross across the Coachford box and O Donnell tapped it home. Less than 3 mins later Matthew Bradley had a shot from just outside the Village box which beat the Village keeper into top Corner, too much power for the Keeper. A few mins later some sloppy Village defending let Evan Sull bounce on the ball and slide in their winger Jamie who smashed it in. Credit to Village who got it back to 2-2 when again some good build up play on the left wing, cross into Jamie Murphy who caught it with a first time volley into Coachford net. Just after the restart Coachford scored again some great play from Bradley he crossed into the box with the ball bobbling around it landed at the feet of their winger Jamie who side footed it into the net. Village made it 3-3 just before HT again good build the ball eventually hit a Coachford defender and went it. What a first half. Second half both teams tired but Coachford got the breaks as all good teams too. Some really poor defending from the Village CB missing the ball before Evan Sull helped it home. Village had a great chance for 4-4 with Jamie Murphy free on his own in the box managed to hit his shot just over. Coachford got their 5 and last goal to make it 5-3 around 80min mark when Luke Casey got on the scoresheet when lobbing the Village keeper running around and tapping it home. Quiet enough day for Luke and Cailan with their standards, understandable tried. It was a great game to watch Village always hard to beat and will give you a game, but you can't give Coachford so many chances. If Village cut out some sloppy defending it could of went their way. Village front 3 were great all day causing Coachford all sorts of problems. I'll head down to Coachford today with a coffee to watch their B team take on Watergrasshill.

Ye can talk about a great game yesterday as much as ye want but the table just shows another loss for village for me they must be the biggest disappointment of all the teams in the whole Aul signed more players than Chelsea and still same result poor mid table team

Ref there not a bad team, they just got erratic results.

No consistancy. On there day they can give anyone a game .

3 goals against Coachford, who's scored that bar Grattan. Who's beaten Coachford this season locally bar Grattan.

Most teams are lucky to score 1 an when Coachford empty the bench they may score a 2nd.

But that's when there 5 down.

Coachford have a class front 3 and a really good team behind them.
No one is saying there not a good team.

Village have an excellent front 3 as well, hence 3 goals an they have a really good team as well.

Before Coachford there was a Greenmount , Blarney, Ballincollig Kinsale, Wilton, Park, Leeside,,,,,they were all bate as well, that's when the Aul was a proper league an that's when Village were there or there about, that's how good they are.

There is still is a Grattan , an they bate them all to win leages undefeated. Love it or hate it ,it's a fact.

Won't do it this season but next season is the 100th,,,,il be goin to the bookies early

Have watched Village a few times this year. Great unity and squad there in fairness to them compared to 95% of teams in the AUL. Have some good players named above, but for whatever reason there is they just can’t be consistent, they were there abouts against Grattan in the Mossie in fairness, yesterday gave it a right proper go from the report above FairPlay but again there abouts is no good you get nothing for finishing 2nd best after 90 mins or 120 mins.

    Fish,,,,,,,

    Grattan United .
    AUL Beamish Murphy Cup.
Up in yer place if I remember correctly.
All the top 2 teams in each league in County Cork entered that.

Only Aul side to win it .
2nd time in the final by the way to be correct.
No AUL side has reached that final by the way.

Beaten finalist in the MFA Champions Cup.
1st Aul side to reach that final as well.
All the top 2 sides in MUNSTER.

I'd say you must feel a tad of a wolly now after reading that .

    Ha ha.

Fish before I go an I take no joy from this .
Check the last winners of the AUL premier over the last contested seasons premier prior to this season. (non covid interupted seasons.)

I think ul find GrattAN United have won 2 Coachford have won 2.
    Knocka have won 1.

Ye are hardly saying a beamish cup is something to be boasting about HEHE, Won it this season but come runners up last season and runners up in champions Cup and that's a success cop on now will ya they are only pre season cups for god sake, gratten race has ran and that has shown this year out of league and aoh and soon to be runners up in mossy but that's a success for ye , few of gratten players gave up weeks ago when lost out in league not even training or anything but ye are THE BEST according to you

I’ve watched village a lot the last couple seasons, same as all the north side teams, they have been by far the biggest improvement this season, when they’re at their best they’re a very good side, but like previously said, very erratic, can play lovely ball, don’t fancy them in a battle though, they had grattan on the edge twice and couldn’t handle the front door being beaten down, left them back into it twice and lost on penalties. Dunlea has done a brilliant job to make them respectable after they were more or less gone after a decade of being the premier whipping boys. The one thing I will say is I don’t fancy them to win anything next year. I other than the lad Zack(who i think is a brilliant young player) all the signings parades around were either at the very end of their prime, or past it, the average age of the team must be around 35. They don’t have time to improve, felt like it was now or never for that particular group.
They’re short a good centre half, that Keegan lad is a very good defender, the young fella is very raw. And I feel short a midfielder. Might find it difficult to get young blood in as there’s a lot of teams to choose from above in mayfield for a young fella, and if the rumours of a 35s team are true then they’re down the likes of Pa long, Stephen long, Colin hickey etc. all still solid capable players.

Could be all there to play for next season if the rumours about half the coachford team going to rockmount but I don’t see it for village. They’re an entertaining team to watch I will give them that though

With the season nearing an end. Are there any clubs from this season that people feel won’t be lining out in the AUL next season or worse yet folding?
