    france disaster

only starting to recover from it now. There seemed to be no plan for if we lost a goal, we lost our shape completely, is this a fault of management? do we need some new ideas?

I think its a shock for any team to start loosing when you are clearly the better of the two teams. I wouldnt say we lost our shape but on the night we needed exceptional players to play out of their skin like Duff and Roy Keane, but i dont think they did. Im not putting them down just saying that i thought the France match would be a lot like the Holland match just the one goal that would be created out of nothing in particular unfortunately the French were the one who got that all important goal and from then on we were looking for that jammy Robbie Keane goal.

Roy Keane was immense but Duffer was very subdued.

GreenArmyGirl I assume you're hinting towards Ireland being the better of the 2 teams?? Well I'd dispute that for starters!!! France are clearly better, and this coming from somebody who thinks France are a very ordinary team, Ireland just don't have strength in depth, and pair that with stupid decisions by the management i.e. calling up Mackin that time, there really is not much hope for us, all we can do is play ball to our strengths and then we'll start moving forward, and with that I think its time for Brian Kerr to go...

Also a lot of people on here seem to enjoy wearing the old green tinted glasses, so I fully expect to be slaughtered for this remark!!!

Thats the last thing i would do is slaughter you for your opinion ive had a few opinions myself on this site that everyone didnt agree with. By no means were we outstanding but i think we did deserved to loose. Zindane, Henry and Viera were kept quite throughout the game and thats not an easy thing to do. So i do believe that we were the better team just havent got the strikers to put the chances away.

As for the green tinted glasses there in for repair since the Israel matches

Look, in all fairness it was a poor game with the sides seperated by one moment of magic. That's all, nothing more nothing less. Now lets stop whinging about something we can't change and go and beat Cyprus and the Swiss
