Not sure the relegation play-off is all that relevant apart from mild embarrassment. Can't see the First Division side winning. Cork have the league sewn up. We're probably the best side apart from that but we don't have anyone to put the ball in the net and it's costing us. With a Whelan/Mahdy/Kelly/Davis/Swan/McMillan/Kilduff/Martin/O'Byrne/Sherlock/O'Brien (or two, as we've usually had) I'd give us a chance. The others - well, it's a one-off game so anything can happen, but I'm not seeing they could beat Bohs/Dundalk/Sligo/whoever it ends up being either.

An unusual mix of bookings for Harps tonight - keeper booked, assistant manager sent off and coach booked, all in the space of about ten minutes. Add a red card in the first half too and I guess we can be disappointed with a point in the end.

Ronan Finn off injured inside the first 15 minutes, and with Seán Brennan out as well at the moment, the mid-season break has come at the best possible time for us...

Kerry claimed their third home league win in row. Becoming a good habit after waiting so long. A short mid-season break. Kerry v Waterford in the MSC final is coming up on Monday week, June 24th.

And we still have another match to throw away v Pats!

how we only have one point against from is crazy. It’s akin to the yr we kept them up.

hope Derry win it at this stage cos it ain’t gonna be Rovers

Bohs were shocking in that second half, absolutely no idea how to create a chance and camping in our own half praying for a draw in the last 20. Wouldn't be surprised if the news that Reynolds is gone in came out in the next few days. Really felt like he lost the support with the U21s shambles.

I watched the game at Dalymount and have to fully agree with this analysis. They offered nothing in the 2nd half. Surely they’ll give Reynolds at least 1 transfer window to bring some attacking talent in tho. Akintunde is an extremely limited player.

Brilliant night in Inchicore. Pats should’ve scored more than the two, created and missed some really good chances. Everyone in red and white had a good game bar Turner playing left full who had a nightmare. The difference Sjoberg made returning to the team at right back was night and day to the others that have played there while he was out. Hopefully get Breslin back during the break and kick on. You’ve got to love the beautiful dose of karma dealt to the rovers fans who spent the entire game throwing an extra ball onto the pitch during the game to disrupt play which resulted in 7 minutes of injury time, just enough time for their academy graduate Brandon Kavanagh to score the winner against them

    Rovers have been found lacking.
Lacking fit defenders & a competent keeper is the fault of the Rover's management.
But lacking desire & hunger is most definitely on the players. They've been clear at the top for 4 years, with no opposition, but nothing lasts forever.
Tough game in the cup and the dread of drawing half competent opposition in Europe means there'll be a tone under the beach towels of the Rovers team on their midseason break.
Derry should win it from here.

About 26 months now on from the month of his precited resignation by LOI experts Damien Duff's Shels are still top of the league in 2024 going into the summer break with 14 games to go, just sayin'

That was as routine a win as we’ve had all season, Drogheda were awful, one chance of note early in the game and that was it.
Very professional and comfortable for us. Heading into the mid season break and sitting in fifth in 30 points, and with at least one game in hand on the four sides above us, is a cracking first half of the season.

Almost as good am.implosion as Dundalk in 2020 without the benefit of the lunatic american.
That team won the cup and got to EL group stages. You’ve a way to go yet to even match that.

Nutsy is our new scapegoat. Probably should shoulder a fair share of the blame but he ain’t alone. We’ve been in decline since 2021 season and I don’t see that changing due to the culture at the club.

To be fair, appointing a manager who is allowed to spend the week in Croatia coaching a different group of players rather than working on aspects of tonights game with the Bohs players was always going to draw criticism for Fenlon (as well as Reynolds) if there wasn’t a positive result

Good point for us. Sean O'Donnell's sending off was pure stupidity in what was now his last game for us before he moves to the states. Quality player but his discipline won't be tolerated over there. 3 reds in a season and a half. Always plays on the edge. At half time I could see no way back but fought well to get a point. The coaches bookings and sending off were directly or indirectly relating to the incident where Heimer picked up the back a yard inside his box and the keeper gave a free in!!

Why not, maybe the FD team comes through the mini play off, is it 2 or 3 games, but they still enter into a one off game, neutral venue, anything can happen, should really be home and away.

As things things, if its Drogs maybe FD team fancy chances, if its Dundalk depends on how we finish, either way, still one off, stilll think should be 2 legs, was it moved to one leg due to covid?

Not a chance it is only Nutsy signing off on hiring managers and coaching staff and signing players. Anyone who is involved in that process is as culpable as the DOF.
