    Mullingar Town

Are Mullingar Town joining the First Division next season? I hope so. It would be ridiculous not to let them join considering what they have invested. I understand Kildare/Newbridge are joining though which is a good thing ( can we get rid of Dublin City FC now? ).

No, Kildare County were invited to fill the vacancy, but Mullingar Town were 'praised for their efforts' or words to that effect.

Rubbish. Their investment consisted of importing a Brit-reject XI, directly or indirectly insulting Irish footballers and football fans, as well as the whole league. They can go and join Dublin city in their 2 man dome tent outside the G14, or Atlantic League- or whatever meeting they think they'll get into for a Euro League. Good riddance.

While its good to see someone invest some money into the game in ireland they just parachuted in english players & had no ground worth talking about.

Newbridge had been gradually improving their facilities for many years & i hear they have a good pitch if limited facilities in Co. Kildare.

Yes, a stadium would be the most important thing.

I've heard football teams find them handy alright, but I'm not sure why

    Stadiums

Well with Rovers, the former Flanciro, the state of Whitehall, and the disputed Centary Homes Park does the powers that be really care about football grounds....

    And Whats the point....

Average attendance and capacity are two very different things... I know we hope in the future it changes but for a club invited into the league it shouldn't be everything.... Financial structures come way before a 'stadium'

Fair point, but having your own ground is a very important financial consideration.
