I like the farcical sketches the best.
1. The one with the stoning in the Life of Brian.
2. The confusion with guards and the landlord/king in the Hold Grail.![]()
3. There is a sketch where they are shooting a movie at the beach and a lion attacks I think. Its so stupid cause its just a lion teddy being thrown around.

The "Brave Sir Robin" song in Holy Grail
"When danger raised its ugly head, he quickly turned
his heals and fled, brave, brave, brave, brave Sir Robin "

not their best sketch but it makes me laugh...
Whatever it was I am sure it was better than my plan to get out of this by pretending to be mad. I mean, who would have noticed another madman around here?
The one where the all get shot dead for crimes against comedy?
Wait a minute, that was a dream.
Bye bye Stan. Go off back to collecting cones you useless git.

I guess that we're all thinking how sad it is that a man of such talent, such capability and kindness, of such intelligence should now be so suddenly spirited away at the age of only forty-eight, before he'd achieved many of the things of which he was capable, and before he'd had enough fun.
Well, I feel that I should say, "Nonsense. Good riddance to him, the freeloading *******! I hope he fries."
Good old Arthur 'Two sheds' Jackson.
As mentioned, the Spanish Inquisition.
Live at the Hollywood Bowl: when Idle goes on a rant about package holidays, and the Arguement clinic.

The one in the Holy Grail when they come up against the Rabbit:
Monk in the Holy Grail:
And the Lord spoke, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin.
Then, shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shalt be the
number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shalt be
three.
Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou
then proceed to three.
Five is right out! Once the number three, being the third number be
reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards
thou foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."
no one ever expects the spanish inquisition!
classic
Was that the one where Terry Gilliam was wearing a TinTin jumper? If so, that wasn't the funny part, the funny part was when Terry crossed his legs and knocked over the urn, and then John cleans it up with a dust buster. Now that's f*cking funny.Originally Posted by Ruairi

Was there a bit in 'Live at the Rose Bowl' whrer a wig came off & they missed their lines & had to improv...

There was a lot of improv in the live shows, I think. John Cleese and Michael Palin used to try and make each other crack up laughing during some shows. Worked on occasions as well!
Thats the one! distaste taken to a whole new levelOriginally Posted by dahamsta
