    Wexford FC v Bray

For what seems the umpteenth time this season, Wexford dropped points in a game after being in a winning position, and on this occasion lost all three points as they conceded two goals to Bray in the second half. Possibly some squad rotation by Wexford as they started with Owen, Ethan, Mikie, Kian, Dobbsy, Mark, Luka, Carl, Sean, Cian and Reece. First half really only had two chances apiece. It took a long time for any meaningful goalmouth action to take place, and Wexford’s first decent effort on goal came on 19 minutes and gave them the lead goal when Mikie Rowe had a shot from outside the Bray area and may have taken a deflection as Clark, the Bray keeper, seemed initially to go the wrong way. 1-0 to Wexford. On 26 minutes, Bray had a header wide of the Wexford post from a Bray corner. Another Bray corner on 38 minutes led to a shot a yard or two over the Wexford bar. Right on half-time, Aaron Dobbs ran to Bray’s near post and poked a low cross wide of the Bray post. 1-0 to Wexford at halftime after a poor enough half of football.

Wexford actually started the second half well and Kian Corbally had a left-footed effort on three minutes which went a yard or two wide of Bray’s far post. On nine minutes, Thomas Oluwa came on for Wexford and, five minutes later, a Wexford header was headed off the Bray goal-line with Bray’s keeper, Clark, beaten. On the quarter-hour mark, Mikie Rowe had a free header which he glanced just wide of the Bray goal. Hard to see Bray getting back into the game at this stage but Wexford’s difficulties commenced on 17 minutes when Bray fashioned a three on two chance against the Wexford defence. It led to a free for Bray and Cristian Magerusan got a deflection with his effort which took it past Owen Mason in the Wexford goal for 1-1. After Mikie Rowe went close again for Wexford, it got worse for the home side as Wexford gave the ball away in their own third and Magerusan was teed up for another shot which again beat Mason and it was 2-1 to Bray. Kaylem Harnett and Aaron Robinson then came on for Wexford and Wexford applied a fair bit of pressure to get at least a point from the game. Thomas Oluwa nearly scored from a near post flick, Dobbsy had a rasper which Clark did well to push away and finally, Reece Webb had a shot which went a couple of yards over the Bray bar right at the end. So, 2-1 to Bray at fulltime with Wexford again having lost their way in the second half of a game. Crowd was believed to be 674.
