Ferrycarrig seems to be the place for goals this season but unfortunately the Wexford defence are just that bit too generous and it proved to be the difference again this evening as UCD deservedly secured the three points. Wexford started with Owen, Ben, Cian, Ethan, Mikie, Kian, Thomas, Mark, Luka, James and Reece. Wexford started the brighter and Thomas Oluwa had two half-chances for Wexford early on including a header which Moore grabbed in the UCD goal. On 13 minutes, UCD won a corner and Holohan was able to run unimpeded to the near post for a free header and UCD were a goal ahead. On 14 minutes, James Crawford limped off and was replaced by Wexford’s Kaylem Harnett. UCD then conceded a similar goal to the first of the game on 21 minutes when Wexford's Cian O’Malley got free at UCD’s near post for another headed goal and it was 1-1. Four minutes later, UCD’s Jake Doyle got two free touches while unopposed in the Wexford area – the first to keep the ball in the air and the second to cushion it past Owen Mason in the Wexford goal and it was 2-1. UCD finished the half with two shots on the Wexford goal both of which were not kept on target and it was 2-1 to UCD at halftime.
