I mean, this feels a bit desperate. The FAI cleared him to play, so that should be that.
    The English FA Regs

    Trophy Match, either:
48.1 remains registered to the same Club, but that Club becomes ineligible for or does not enter the EFL
    Trophy; or
    48.2 moves to a different Club that is ineligible or does not enter the EFL Trophy;
that period of suspension shall be transferred so that it may be served with reference to Matches other than
those in the EFL Trophy (to which the suspension originally applied).

    Fifa regs

    12 Enforcement of disciplinary sanctions

imposed on a player by the former association but not yet (entirely) served by the time
of the transfer shall be enforced by the new association at which the player has been
registered in order for the sanction to be served at domestic level. When issuing the ITC,
the former association shall notify the new association via TMS of any such disciplinary
sanction that has yet to be (entirely) served.
    2.
Any disciplinary sanction of more than four matches or more than three months that

the former association shall notify the new association via TMS of any such pending
    disciplinary sanction.

I'm not sure there was an obligation to transfer the suspension under FIFA rules since it was a 3 match ban and the regs specify 4 matches or 3 months which I assume refers to the length of suspension being 3 months rather than the length of time it takes to enforce.

Yeah that’s how I read it as well. That’s just at a quick glance mind you. The English regs seem purely domestic and therefore not relevant.
Out for a spell, got neglected, lay on the bench unselected.

Nah its obviously either 3 months or 4 matches , so either time or number of mathces. Neither is related to the other.
For example when Cantona was banned for 9 months (i think) they didnt say 9 months or 30 matches.
Devoy had a ban which he hadnt served, hence the appeal.
It would be embarressing for the FAI to have cleared him in the wrong so will they pull back???
be interestig but the FAI have a history of bending the rules to prevent embarressing themselves

"Rovers asked me 'Can we be the 17th team in the FAI Cup 3rd round?'. They did. They asked me this."
I like high energy football. A little bit rock and roll. Many finishes instead of waiting for the perfect one.

You've misread the reg , specifically part 1. It deals with suspensions up to 4 games. Part 2 deals with suspensions that are more than 4 games.

The English regs are relevant. They stipulate what happens should a player move and a suspension was not served. Therefore confirming that a suspension would go with the player, including an international transfer as per FIFA regs.

That was the frst thing I thought when I heard about the appeal too. They dont like to admit mistakes.

I don’t see that in what you’ve quoted. However, you’re right, I did misread the FIFA rule. Missed the “up to four matches” part, so it would seem those rules do apply.

Kerry were away to Cork last night. Disappointing and sloppy goals conceded. Kerry are away to second placed Athlone next. Good tests ahead of the third round.

Athone also signed Alex "Timmy" Byrne. Former Galway Utd centre half/ centre mid. Decent First Division player. He was out in Canada the past few years. I'd love it if they got promoted! I think Kerry will struggle against them next week

It will never not be hilariously funny and cripplingly embarrassing at the same time to me.

Sunday 18th of August at 4pm confirmed for Kerry v Bohs - would have imagined the home side would have preferred a Friday night KO, but at least they can get the preparations underway.

Surprised it isn't Friday. Was that a decision taken by Gardaí with a certain festival taking place on the same weekend?

This is a mandatory FIFA reg which all associations must adopt. Adds another dimension to the Bohs/Rovers case.

    4. A sending-off automatically incurs suspension from the subsequent match.
The FIFA judicial bodies may impose additional match suspensions and other
    disciplinary measures.

If the fai play fair I think Rovers win this but as we've seen with the sending off appeals this year their appeals system.os a joke
