Game in which Wexford were looking very comfortable ended up with a thrilling finish in which the home side just about managed to secure the three points. Conditions again proved difficult in Ferrycarrig Park as the swirling breeze and driving rain made the soft pitch at the start even worse as the game wore on. Wexford started with Owen, Cian, Ethan, Mikie, Kian, Thomas, Dobbsy, Mark, Luka, Kaylem and Reece. First half hadn’t a huge amount of chances but Wexford got the majority of them. On four minutes, Treaty had probably their best chance of the half with their first attack of note when a Treaty player headed over when he probably should have scored. Wexford’s first real attempt on goal came on 17 minutes when Mark Hanratty had an effort on goal which went a yard over the Treaty crossbar. With 21 minutes gone, Yoyo Mahdy came over to the sideline and was presumably breaking his Ramadan fast for the day. Wexford upped the tempo and Mikie Rowe had a shot on goal deflected for a corner and, from that corner, Michael Dike in the Treaty goal did well to hold a Wexford effort which was on target. After a reasonably comfortable save by Owen Mason in the Wexford goal, Wexford went up the other end when Kaylem Harnett put Thomas Oluwa away with a delightful through-ball, but Thomas’s shot was touched onto a Treaty post and out for a corner. With four minutes to go in the half, Kaylem Harnett broke from halfway and had a run in on Dike in the Treaty goal, but the latter was able to smother Kaylem’s effort on goal. Just before the break, Thomas Oluwa had a shot blocked on the Treaty goal-line and half ended at 0-0 with Wexford the better side and Treaty content to mainly hit the ball long which was easily dealt with by Boyle and O’Malley at the back for Wexford.
