    2024 Match kit

New hit has arrived. It's.....meh. Need to sit with it for a while. I don't think it's as nice as the last one.

Some nice features and the big dirty Sky logo has finally arrived.
Ultimately though, it's as unimaginative as ever with Castore. They've gone for white pinstripe sleeve hem stripes just like out 2002 World Cup jerseys and the collar is similar to Steve Staunton era jerseys.

The training jacket with the orange celtic designs is horrific and reminiscent of the death throes of Umbro Ireland gear.

In conclusion, Castore have to go, in favour of Adidas, Nike or even O'Neill's

Actually think the jersey is a big improvement on the last one. Looks like the crest fits it too rather than just stuck on as an after thought. I like the detail in it and it's the right green for me. Think it's our best one for a while

I think there’s some decent attempts in it.

The Celtic knotwork etc but it just doesn’t land. Looks cheap like the last Umbro one we had. The WNT one was even worse than the men’s iirc.

Overall I find Castore unimaginative and derivative.

On a side note, any attempt that’s ever been made to include Celtic designs or triskels etc has never worked. It would be glorious if someone got that right but so far nobody has

The D4 rap just sums up its lameness for me.
Decent attempt overall but ultimately a fail on all fronts.

Under Armour, O’Neill’s, Adidas, Nike, New Balance…..somebody save us

Apparently, no other company can match the sign-on fees of Castore.

It's better than the last one but that's a low bar. If they had just used plain cloth the shade of green not being bad might have got them out of jail. But ss Fixer said the Celtic knot business just doesn't work.

The new FAI badge is awful. The sky logo is dreadful looking

The badge looks like a graphic you'd see on a Lucky Charms breakfast cereal box.

I liked the kit. Much nicer shade of green than we've seen in a long while.

€95 for a t-shirt is beyond mental though

And you've still got a dirty sponsor logo splashed across the jersey.

I'm torn on the sponsorship thing. We bitch about it when we don't have one because we've realized we need the money. Now that we have one we bitch about it again being on the jersey. But yes, if you are buying the Pro jersey at 140 quid it should be without sponsorship. BTW having a pro jersey in the 1st place is fcuking ridiculous. It's just another was to mass produce the fan jersey with even cheaper materials

It's Castore though so that will likely come off after a couple of washes!

Every other country has sponsors too. They put it on the player's travel kit, pre-match kit and training kit. All of which is acceptable and looks fine. See England and EE, Netherlands and ING etc. Brazil's training gear is covered in logos.

We're the only ones who sold our soul out for a few extra pennies. It's laughable that some section of fans will continue to defend the nonsense because the poor FAI and their paupers bowl. The Jamaican FA are corrupt and skint too. I can still go online and buy one of their shirts that is the one the players actually wear.

I don't see anyone defending it, I said I'm torn on it, but I also don't think it's that big a deal to be getting upset about. If it means we bring in extra money that's needed to me it's similar to the naming rights on the stadium. If you want a jersey without the sponsorship there are plenty of outlets online that would supply it.

The reaction on social media to the sponsorship is funny, as it usually is. Lads decrying the big bad corporation of Sky, while they have a Premiership club as their profile Pic.

For me, if the extra few quid we get from putting the name on the jersey goes towards getting a manager that was out of reach without the sponsorship it might be worth it. I don't have to like it, but it's not the end of the world

TBH the kit is growing on me. There's bit of it to dislike, but it had a few good bits as well. The design isn't bad if you can ignore the celtic knotwork business, and the shade of green is quite nice.

According to the internet acetone will take that Sky logo right off.

To be fair to the soccer world, FIFA etc, it is great that national teams don't have big ugly sponsors on their jerseys.
I hate seeing our national rugby team with the big dirty red Vodafone splodge on the front of it. Playing in a stadium named by an insurance company

That'll leave an outline, glue never comes off clean anyway. They're not getting any money off me anyway, as long as there's a sponsor. Wouldn't even take it for free.

FAI surely missing out on merchandising income. I'm not going to buy a replica jersey with a sponsor on it.
