Why did McCarthy hand Breen the captaincy - yes the worst Irish player on the pitch will lead his country. Kinsella was such an obvious choice - club captain and man who has to attempt to fill Keane's boots

Maybe Breen is more likely to play the full 90mins so he didn't want to moving the captaincy around?
In fairness I think Breen is not our worst centre back by a long shot. He has done ok in matches & does try to pass it around at the back a bit. Sure he has the tendency to go awol at the back sometimes but he definitely better than Dunne anyway.
