    Wexford FC v Treaty (U17)

Result from today: Wexford FC U17 5, Treaty Utd 2. Really good game where the final score might have flattered the home side a little. Wexford started with O’Brien, Dempsey, Leeson, Ramsey, Butler, Maher, Al Masry, Doyle, Kinch, Sherlock and Wasilewski. After both sides had a good effort on goal apiece, it was Treaty’s Adelu, who’s definitely a player to watch, who put Treaty ahead with a fine finish. However, Wexford had really good threats down either wing through Wasilewski and Al Masry, and it was the former who reached the byline and crossed on the half-hour mark to enable Kinch to volley home for Wexford for 1-1. 1-1 at half-time.

Wexford looked the more dangerous team after the break and went ahead on 14 minutes when Tony Doyle finished well after Wexford set him up with a nice cross-field passing move. However, Treaty hit back immediately through the outstanding Adelu after a fine break by Treaty following a Wexford free. Wexford then started to build up a healthy lead when Wasilewski converted a penalty for 3-2. It was 4-2 when Wexford’s Al Masry converted from close in although another Wexford player may have impeded the Treaty keeper who had a fine game. A good cross by Wexford’s Sherlock then enabled Al Masry to get his second, again from close in, for 5-2. Adelu then nearly got Treaty’s third but was denied by a good save by Wexford’s goalkeeper, O’Brien. Treaty then had a good shout for a peno but were surprised by the award of a free to Wexford. Adelu then came close to scoring again but was denied by a last-ditch Wexford block. 5-2 to Wexford at full-time. Best for Wexford were the two wingers, Al Masry and Wasilewski, together with Leeson, Sherlock and Doyle. Wexford's second pitch appeared to hold up well despite a good deal of rain in Wexford on the morning of the game.
