Derry to face Shamrock Rovers in FAI Cup quarter-finals

Treble-chasing Derry City have been drawn against fellow top-flight outfit Shamrock Rovers in the quarter-finals of this year's FAI Cup.

The Candystripes, who have already reached the League Cup final and are second in the Eircom League, will have home advantage for the glamour tie.

The SFAI are the governing body for grassroots football in Ireland, not the FAI. Its success or the lack of is all down to them.

    Lads,

Can you confirm a date for this? Your official site says the friday. However we have heard saturday with live tv coverage from TG4. Now live tv is only ever on a friday so which is it?!!

    Looking forward to it anyway.

Last time we played in the league cup mid-week Kenny changed the match to a Saturday night to give the team extra rest but if if/when it's confirmed for TG4 it will have to be Friday as thats when all the televised matches are.
"The Derry fans were fantastic in both matches. They sang their hearts out all the time and created an even better atmosphere than the Cup Final. They were brilliant. - David Graham, Gretna striker
