Is that the first time 2 LOI games are being televised simultaneously? I don’t recall any other times

Last day of the 2015 season they televised Sligo v Limerick and occasionally popped into Rovers v Drogs? Probably doesn't count.

It’s been hard enough to get them to show one most of the time

All these live games the last few weeks have us utterly spoilt. We’ll be getting ideas above our station if this keeps up.

I'm glad to see the news channel is finally getting an LOI game. I'd always thought that it was probably fair enough if the LOI games weren't getting the numbers on prime time of a Friday evening on RTE2 but you'd have to think that a live football game would be able to compete with a news channel which is on a hourly loop throughout the day.

Only down side is the quality of the news channel, it's barely viewable for sport

Stuey Byrne was like a talking Richie Sadlier last night. Richie Sadlier must be a big influence for him. Back when RTE had a highlights programme, it was evident enough.
There are some good podcasts out there but there is a place for a good preview and review programme. Whether that is through LOITV, YouTube or possibly both.

I think LOI TV has been generally very good this season, so thanks to all concerned. The coverage seems to be better in the Premier League. Some cameras covering the First Division don't seem up to scratch. Watching the play-off semi-finals was a tough watch, technology wise. Some commentators are very good indeed (Drogheda, Sham Rovers, Dundalk). Even the 'two lads down the pub' approach (Athlone!) has a certain charm.
Should be even better next year, with a dedicated App planned for 2025.

Premier Division grounds have a professional company running the streams. The First Division is all on the clubs themselves to provide it. But agree that some of the grounds in the First Division have difficult streams to watch, but for the most part, it's all being run by voluteers, so can't be too harsh on them.

Flicking through the channels there and see that Coleraine vs Crusaders is live on Sky Sports + at the moment. Sparse crowd, next to no atmosphere at all, poor standard on the pitch. It really makes you think how short the FAI have sold the LOI by not getting games on Sky Sports, specially considering there is usually no other live football on a Friday night on Sky bar the odd sporadic Championship game. And no football at all on Sky through the summer.

£15 to get into most NI games now, last time i was in Coleraine that's nearly four pints in the big pub down the road. Freezing weather this time of year too!

That’s all fair enough, I don’t dispute any of the reasons for the product on show. I’m more so highlighting that the NIFL have managed to get it live on Sky, while the FAI have failed to do so, even with games that have higher attendances, better atmospheres and a better standard on the pitch

It came in when Sky got the rights to show NI, IFA insisted they show a few games from the National league. Afaik.

Surely something the FAI could’ve negotiated if they had someone competent enough to do so considering their main sponsor is err.. Sky

Does Coleraines artificial surface look a lot better than the ones we have down here or is it just me?
