Do you ever read foot.ie? What do you think of that Stuttgart88 bloke? Who speaks most sense? Who's the biggest wnaker?
    Brian Kerr reply
Yes I go browsing there the odd day. If I was to read all of what Stuttgart 88 has to write about me, Ireland, every player past present and future I wouldnt have time to work on my hobby horse at the moment, which is formations.
He is in his own words "a bit slow on the uptake" especially when he claimed that I have an "inability to cope with enforced subs".
But in saying he has shown promise and was the only one to recognize and be perfectly happy with what I was trying to do in the last friendly

I'd also like to know how Brian sees the team developing over the next 3 years (i.e. over the next qualifying series) from a tactical and formations perspective - will we be sticking with the tried and trusted 4-4-2 or start following the trends at club level to use a 4-5-1 or 4-3-3. Also, it's accepted that there are always retirements from the senior side following a qualifying series/major tournament, so who does he see as progressing into the starting XI (or just the squad) in that timeframe to replace those that do retire, and does he have any idea what roles they will fill, e.g. Glen Whelan as holding midfielder or box-to-box type player, would playing Stephen Kelly at left full allow O'Shea to move into midfield, etc?

I agree actually. I think all managers should read what the fans have to say about them and the team

Shay just answered one of my 10 questions!!

Do you practise penalties, or do you view it more as something best judged on the moment?
<Shay Given> I do practice penalties. You try and watch videos of penalty-takers as well, to help you. The advantage is definitely with the taker, and not the goalkeepr.

Evidence (Spain, Israel) would exist to contradict him, unfortunately!!!
