Republic of Ireland under-21 international defender Henry McStay has joined Irish League side Portadown after snubbing a possible move to eircom League Premier Division strugglers Finn Harps.
McStay played for Harps in a guest role against Glenavon recently, and caretaker manager Anthony Gorman was hopeful of tying up a deal for the 20-year-old.
However, the former Leeds United youngster – who hails from County Armagh – has opted to join Portadown.
McStay is due to start physiotherapist studies in Belfast in the coming weeks.
