Barrett is hopeless. Was always surprised how he got in the irish squad.
Irish international Graham Barrett has quit Coca-Cola Championship side Coventry City to join Scottish Premier League strugglers Livingston on loan until the New Year.
Barrett is not part of Mickey Adams’s plans at the Ricoh Arena, and spent the final three months of last season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday.
The 23-year-old former Arsenal youngster had been tipped to join the Owls on a permanent basis in the summer, but he was left in limbo when that deal didn’t go through.
However, the young Dubliner, who has two senior international goals to his credit, has been handed a chance to build a career elsewhere after Livingston’s intervention on transfer deadline day.
Agreement on the deal was reached at 9.30pm on Wednesday night – just over two hours before the transfer window was slammed shut until January.
Livi boss Paul Lambert said: “We are very pleased to persuade Graham to join us, initially on loan. He has an excellent pedigree and I expect him to settle into Scottish football quickly.
“We have been looking for a striker throughout the summer. Paul Dalglish was an added bonus and I am confident that the team will benefit from both him and Graham being available to us. We have tracked Graham for a while and made our move during the last few days.”
Barrett is likely to make his Livi debut in the bottom-against-top clash with surprise early pace-setters Hearts at Almondvale on Saturday week (September 10th).
