Anyone else hyper over French game?

Anyone else feel as if this is do or die stuff?
If we win the ole ole times will be back, qualification for Germany will be in the bag and we will have a bloody good chance of drawing our way to at least the quarters?
The excitement and the closeness between the fans and team hasn't been so noticeable for a while...but i think it'll be back if we win this one.
Bloody hell, the game is still a week away, feels like its tom!
    Maybe its just me.

do ye know, before i just typed in foot.ie in the browser i was thinking about france match in paris and how i couldnt work at all the week before. its coming again for this game. there will be some session if we beat them next wednesday, some session.

but lets not get into this over-optimisitic qualification in the bag stuff. it never is over till the last game for us, and schweiz proved that for us last time as well.

I'm excited alright. I fly home tonight so I'm looking forward to the match. Nervous but Irish football (and the Gaa) are all I really get worked up about these days.

Nauseous already when I think of it. Really hope I can get to sleep the night before. Go figure Wednesday is the first day of classes, and the match starts at 2:45 in the afternoon New York time. You'd think I'd check my schedule to see how it affects things, but who cares, I know damn well where I'll be well before kickoff.

Same damn thing this time last year. The Swiss game was on the first day of classes.

I'm really excited, I was watching the "greatest irish victories" dvd last night and we've have worse teams before who pull off big upsets at Landsdowne Road. Why not again?
"Jacques Santini...will be greeted in every dugout of the country by "one-nil, one-nil" - Clive Tyldsley, 89th minute of France-England June 13, 2004.
"Ooooohhhh Nooooooo" Bobby Robson 91st minute.

nearly wetting myself with excitement I am ... This is our biggest game for a good while now and really think we will do the business. Just hope the fans support will be similar to the effort we made in paris ..

Its shades of Holland all over again, our form doesnt suggest we can pull it off, I'd very much like us to do so but hey you never know! France are even money, were sitting on 11/4

I'm glad there's another series of games in our group this weekend. In a way it breaks up the wait. Some French bookings / injuries, an unconvincing French performance and a draw in Switzerland vs Israel will set things up very nicely.

With a full strength team France only beat Andorra 2-0 a few years ago, both goals coming after the 80th minute I think so who knows?

As for the excitement, I'm not as worked up as I was for Paris. If I could have hibernated all of last September & early-October I would have. Every minute of every day on the week of the game went so slowly. I left the office for the Eurostar station that Friday decked out in my full Irish kit feeling like I was a kid going to see Santa for the first time. I'm nearly 40 for God's sake.

Because I'm stuck over here for Wednesday it's taken the edge off a little.
