Actually thought it looked well over the 1,000 too. Was pleasantly surprised by the attendance.

I'm sure you'll get the official sooner or later. I have a vague memory if it being 3,200ish. Maybe 3,400.

2,200 or so called out for Dundalk v Shels, looked to be quite understated even at the time and now, as looked like a decent 2,500 crowd.
#DundalkFC - First Irish club to win an away game in Europe (1963), only Irish club to win a game / points in Europa League Group Stage (2016).

The attendance is on the LOI connect app: 2574. Maybe 80-100 Derry fans.

The Bohs god squad must have voted with their feet. Loughgall and Ballymena NO to Sunday football.

Crowd for Bohs rovers given as 4436. Surprised at that given the amount of empty seats in the Bohs singing section on the right hand side of the Jodi.

Can see the Pats game being a season low later on, Sunday evening kickoff going up against Coldplay and man united vs liverpool, coupled with the league position, it’s not an easy sell to the bandwagoners

2,468 was announced at TC on the night. I would say there were 3 to 4 in the away end. I can only presume they were away fans or stewards! ?

At some stage we need a national conversation on just how utterly crap our police force is. Can't handle a game on the same day as a concert, can't deal effectively with far right, can't police the roads and deaths are rising every year.

Sorry bit off topic but it is so weird to me there is so little comment around it.

And whose to blame for that? A government who have cut cut cut and installed a commissioner who is despised by his own force.

The solution is clear. We must vote in the same people again so they can fix their own mess! I joke but let's be honest that is what's going to happen in the next election cycle. Until the voters stop simply complaining and then accepting the inaction of the government nothing is going to change.

Plus a number of Assistant Commissioners who say they can’t afford to apply for the post of Commissioner- and why is that I hear you say- it’s because they’ll incur a large tax bill on retirement - and why is that- it’s because on retirement they’ll have a ‘notional’ pension pot of over €2m and any amount over the €2m threshold is taxable.

Above sums up the the greatest scam played out in plain sight against the people of this country ….. the pensions available to senior Civil/Public servants is a scandal ; effectively insider trading as they are the ones who set the policy that is glibly followed by politicians.

Most of us on retirement would love if our employer told us we’ve a pension ‘pot’ in excess of €2m and happily pay the tax on it

Ps - in today’s market a pot of €2m would generate an annuity ( pension) of approx €95k per year !!

At the same time in the private sector pension coverage is minuscule and the proposed mandatory system ( if it ever goes live) won’t come near to solving the huge disparity between public and private pensions.

So maybe instead of saying it’s the Government’s fault we actually cop on (couldn’t resist) to the real scandal ie the corruption bestowed on us by the mandarins in the Public Service ;be it massive pensions, zero accountability, massive year on year pay rises with no link to improved productivity etc.

Don’t be deflected by getting worked up over poor policing, health system, housing etc. ( yes they are mega issues) but the real issue is the the cost of our public services with poor productivity etc.

As expected a season low of 3,022. Still not too bad a crowd considering the reasons mentioned

Just looking at the fixtures, Friday 20th September against Waterford will be Pats first Friday night game since the 28th of June against Bohs, which was also their only home game on a Friday since May. European and cup fixtures, as well as Euro 2020 being the obvious reasons for that but it’s still a mad stat that I don’t think you’d get in many, if any other European leagues

But they did handle a game on the same day as the concert.... Just not at the same time.

The problem was moving the game to Sunday at short notice and not the concert. The original Friday fixture would have gone ahead as planned if Rovers weren't still in Europe. At the same time as the concert. LOI games happen every summer on the same nights as big concerts. That's why there's little or no comment on it because it isn't an issue.

They had to cancel all Gardai leave in 4 Dublin divisions all weekend because of Coldplay as they don't have enough Gardai

They have had to cancel all Gardai leave next Fri, Sat and Sun in all 6 Dublin division as we have 3500 English fans coming over, and this is on top of bringing Gardai from around the country to Dublin all on overtime so they have enough numbers

The state of the police force is a disgrace and it's all down to the Govt

The same Gardai said they couldn't get involved when Drogheda and Dundalk fans were fighting on the pitch. What's the need for them at games at all?

I don't disagree about the overall state of the Gardaí but it is incorrect for the poster I quoted to say "Can't handle a game on the same day as a concert". There were two games on in Dublin yesterday. The Bohs Rovers game would have gone ahead on Friday evening as planned if Rovers weren't in Europe. At the same time as the concert. Garda resources only came into it when the game had to be moved.
