    UEFA Solidarity Payments

"Premier teams will see their dividend jump by circa €280,000 to a ballpark €350,000 with the possibility of more."
"Based on current projections of figures, that would amount to €45,000-per-annum for clubs in the First Division, a drop of €25,000 from what they received under the old deal."
The Premier Division promotion relegation playoff is going to be a lot more lucrative this year with the increase in payments to Premier Division clubs. If Pat's has qualified for Europe, this year's Premier Division clubs would have shared a hover payout. The flip side of course is that those qualifying are getting greater sums in reward for their progress.

    A Championship: 4 years - 8 first teams - 0 financially ruined. First Division '14: 7 first teams.

The premier division clubs total is a lot more than that for 2024 and 2025.

    From Dan McDonnell on Twitter:

News: LOI Premier clubs who compete in 2024 and 2025 seasons in line to receive circa €700k (each) from UEFA in 2025 due to massive solidarity rise & once-off tweak to payment structure.

    That's a significant jump from €70k-€80k each

Thinks it’s circa 350k a season. Unfortunately, and we’ll be the same as everyone else, it’ll all be blown on taking chances on players

Ah ok, that makes sense. I had thought it was per season based on the wording of the tweet

Massively increases the gap between FD and PD, which was already huge.

To be fair i think plenty of people are but the problem isnt UEFA its the fact that the FAI are potless.
My understanding is Rovers wont get anything next year because we are in GS this year so ive no skin in the game.
I do understand UEFAs rationalle they are saying this money is supposed to help avoid a split at the elite level from those qualifying regularly for European football with those who dont.....think Sligo or Drogs or indeed Shels prior to this season compared to Rovers or DErry/PAts.
The FAI are supposed to look after the other clubs down as far as the grass roots but they are broke.
The FAI could perhaps look to rejig the prize money, it would be legitimate with this new scenerio to have no or limited prize money for the Premier Division.

I’d have my doubts on the FAI doing anything significant, naked self interest usually takes over here and I’ll bet ironically enough that not a lot of “solidarity “ will be forthcoming!

Any word on if Premier Division clubs will share 15% of the UEFA solidarity payments with First Division clubs?
It will be a lack of solidarity if they don't. The 15% crumbs will be some sort of parachute payment for anyone relegated. The drop or loss in solidarity payments with First Division clubs should raise the question of the redistribution of funds and options available.
The League Cup has been dropped since 2020. A basic plan for discussion could or should involve bringing back the League Cup in a preseason group stage format. 5 groups of 4 with two Premier clubs and two First Division clubs each could give First Division clubs the guarantee of two home games.

    Rough plan for seeding:
Seed 1: Premier Division Top 5.
Seed 2: Premier Division next 5, including promoted clubs.
Seed 3: First Division top 5, including relegated clubs.
Seed 4: The remaining First Division clubs.

    Rough plan for fixture scheduling:
Seed 1 at home to Seed 2.
Seed 2 at home to Seed 4.
Seed 3 at home to Seeds 1 and 2.
Seed 4 at home to Seeds 1 and 3.

While ideally an open draw would take place, there could be agreement in arranging some groups in line with seeding to avoid pre season long travel. Derry and Cobh would be kept apart for example.

If the prem clubs agreed to drop from 350k to 300k that would imo be fairer, would add 50x 10= 500 k to the first div pot?
The larger payment should drop by 100k per club too, make a hell of a difference to those clubs

First Division clubs are looking at at least a drop of €25,000 each.

I believe I read somewhere that the 15% was the max that could be given and had to be agreed to by the premier clubs both were clauses of the deal.

It's €75k to €45k with the 15%, and potentially down to nothing.

There are a number of issues this raises, including whether D1 clubs can maintain full academy systems without this support. The 75k did not go close to covering it, so dropping to 45k is a disaster and potentially to nothing is apocalytic for the clubs involved.

Solutions need to be found and quickly too or we risk losing academies and possibily even senior clubs.
