The way immigrants are scapegoated for every social issue in this country you could get a Hidden Among Mosques and Schools party of f*ckwits!

4317 in the showgrounds. Bar the last 2 games of the league winning season biggest crowd we’ve had there for a league game in a long long time.

It's a disappointing turnout regardless of how bad the weather is.

Can foresee a sellout on Friday between Treaty bringing big away numbers and an increase in home fans. Only issue is very few will be able to actually watch the game.

I know what you're getting at but we had 4200 for first game of last season against Shamrock. So nott hat long. First game always brought in good numbers but latley its a sell out.
Manager: Fergal, have you your boots with ya?
Fergal: Ya, I have them here.
Manager: Ah good stuff, well give them to this man so, he forgot his!

The 4,317 attendance in Showgrounds is the highest attendance figure there since the end of the league winning 2012 season, when 5,621 were there for the Oct 13th game against St Pats, and then 6,097 against Shamrock Rovers on 26th Oct.

Sligo had an attendance of 4,248 for the opening game of the 2023 season.

You have to go back to 2013 for the previous time they broke 4,000 at a game, with 4,256 in attendance for a 3-0 win over Derry City on 6th May.

What was the away support ? This is also Derry's closest away game, mental to think Dundalk is next to that.

Great opening crowds by all clubs, Drogs only came bottom as their capacity is 2,100 or so, we were next at 3,122, but quite low away support so prob just about 3k home fans.

If 3,122 is the second lowest its not a bad base, I think Linfield in Irish League with the highest crowds get just over 3k most weeks.

Impressive crowd for your first home game to be fair.

Linfield 3681 this season. 7th highest in the UKs non league attendance table. 3 non league clubs with higher than 6k average, Shamrock Rovers , Pats, and if Cork crowds stayed at 5k or above woould be the next 3 if on that tale, with Bohs below that.

About 350 at TC for Cobh's, home/away game. Maybe 10/12 Athlone fans, while there was over 100 that travelled up from Cobh Town by bus. While it was a great comeback for the 3-3 result the weather was poor and the heavy rain was terrible.
If this game was in St. Colmans there would have been at least 1,000 in attendance.
