Into the home stretch. Premier Division on course to beat the 2023 figure, but First Division is a certainty to be down, with 9 of the 10 clubs suffering a drop in average attendance from 2023.

Let's hope, for my attendance thread sake, that Dundalk pull through and it doesn't wreck the figures for the season.

    PREMIER DIVISION

    Bohs - 4,274 (4,243 {2023}; 3,209 {2022};2,878{19}; 2,148; 2,006; 1,627; 1,724; 1,395; 1,597; 1,496; 1,488)
    Derry - 2,776 (3,336; 3,184; 2,049; 2,297; 1,517; 1,563; 1,124; 1,106; 1,446; 1,460; 2,135)
    Drogheda - 2,033 (1,916; 1,941; 721 FD; ; 377 FD; 850; 583 FD; 813; 1,064; 817; 977; 811)
    Dundalk - 2,393 (2,636; 2,689; 2,775; 2,738; 2,674; 2,738; 3,158; 2,534; 1,997; 949; 1,355)
    Galway - 2,813 (2,018 FD; 2,081 FD; 780 FD; 746 FD; 1,376; 1,169; 1,290; 975 FD)
    Pat's - 4,343 (4,232; 3,489; 1,919; 1,621; 1,504; 1,088; 1,321; 1,386; 1,687; 1,474; 1,346)
    Rovers - 5,638 (6,109; 5,379; 3,384; 2,749; 2,809; 2,041; 2,890; 2,269; 2,763; 3,127; 3,779)
    Shels - 4,189 (3,393; 2,913; 1,071 FD; 654 FD; 496 FD; 554 FD; 596 FD; 713 FD; 1,114; 1,187; 781 FD)
    Sligo - 2,775 (2,555; 2,166; 1,995; 1,853; 1,717; 1,750; 1,750; 1,959; 2,342; 3,007; 2,103)
    Waterford - 2,823 (1,833 FD; 1,705 FD; 1,496; 2,329; 1,550 FD; 314 FD; 460 FD; 470 FD; 478 FD; 453 FD; 466 FD)

    FIRST DIVISION

    Athlone - 691 (872; 307; 382; 130; 154; 156; 314; 653 PD; 754; 271; 200)

A bit worrying that a First Division with Cork included is down on average. Though the flipside is that if the PD is up without Cork this year, then next year should hopefuly be even higher.

The fact there's no clear/runaway leader has presumably helped PD attendnaces so far.

50 to 100 Treaty aka Limerick fans travelling to Wexford in an all ireland quarter final with only 1,033 at the match sums up how far off the radar LOI is outside of Dublin in terms of attendances

A limerick v Wexford hurling quarter final would attract 50,000 although a Limerick v Wexford Gaelic football quarter final might only get 6 or 7000.

It's easy enough for GAA supporters, there's only four or five games in the Championship for most teams. All ten Premier teams have above 2k attendances, 40% of clubs over 4k, this is progress, a long way to go, but positive nonetheless.

Considering the attendances at this year's hurling quarter finals (30,000 between four counties including Cork and Dublin) I doubt very much if they'd be reaching 50,000.

    Apples and oranges comparison.

Attendances are still better across the board than a few years prior, you'd have been lucky to get 200 people at Athlone and Wexford games.

    Galway v Shamrock Rovers - 3,335

Actually looked a lot more on TV but obviously missing what is under the gantry. Lot standing up the old clubhouse end of the ground, presumably crowded around the new bar though.

It's getting to the point now that Terryland probably needs more spectator facilities, whether that's seating or terracing. The new bar is a great addition to the ground but it's location is a bit strange, right behind the goal. A small stand would have been more beneficial in that area.

Maybe Galway have found the key to attract fans, open a bar instead of a terraced or seated stand and they will come!

It was definitely jammed on Monday there was no room for another 1,000 supporters.

The bar is a huge addition and far more viable than a terrace or stand. Great view from it too.
